I don't understand why it's humane to euthanize suffering animals, but intelligent humans are not allowed the same dignity.

Nothing wrong with such a belief. If their lives are theirs, and not the state's [it is not North Korea, at least not yet], then it is up to them, and not to the state, or anyone else. The best the state and everyone else could do is to provide a framework.

This will be the Left's answer to the Social Security problem that will appear in 10 to 15 years. The problem is, those targeted for euthenasia (60 and above) are well armed. Problem is when people are allowed to decide this for themselves, it won't be long before it is no longer your own choice, it will end up a choice made by others. All people do not act in the best interests of another. How many will be killed by the choice of another?
