Don't mind BTS. He's just upset because Serena cleaned his girl's clock Sharapova over the weekend.

I only made that comment in jest remembering how you liked to post pictures of Sharapova on the Savage thread. Little did I know you would be all bent out of shape over a horse so of course you're in no mood to take my post the way it was intended.

However I do think that Monica Seles is/was the queen of screeching.

I've followed your posts so this isn't the first time you've been offended about something. But a horse? PU-LEAZE! There's a whole lot more to get offended about than details about the death of a horse. I heard Savage's take on this horse and I've never heard of this horse and didn't really care what he said in respect to it. If Savage is wrong about it so be it but this is just a horse we're talking about. A HORSE!!!!!!

lol .......... and God bless us please, we are only deceitful and vain humans.

Sorry, whatisthetruth, I happen to like and respect most animals much more than the average human being.

It's obvious that for all of Dr. Savage's education about human nutrition and anatomy, he doesn't have a clue about horses. ........... Dr. Savage really put his foot in his mouth on this one and if he had just done about 10 minutes of research on the Internet to brush up on the facts, he wouldn't have been saying the mean things he was saying about the vets and the owners who have been managing this case all this time.

Exactly........... and thanks for the detail.

I used to have some respect for Michael's intelligence and decency. That changed greatly tonight.

You can learn alot about a particular society by the way they treat their animals. The fact that those of us in the West have great love and compassion for animals is one our strengths. Animals are important, not as important as human beings but they are important. G-d made mankind the caretakers of animals and how we treat them is seen and noted by G-d.

LOL.............. I really wasn't angry at your comment about the tennis match. Really . I explained, if Maria can't win, I don't really care. I like the better player to win.

And yes.......... Seles could really screech!

And, here you go.

There are a few things I enjoy in life (in no particular order):

Star Wars
Cute men (especially hubby)
Cute animals
TSN
Free Republic

What I DON'T enjoy is when Savage puts his foot in his mouth. I know he offends the liberals (because they're stupid) and he offends RINO's (because they're even dumber). His highly-educated opinions on politics and nutrition are second to none (even though he called Pres. Bush a putz). However, when he ventures an uneducated opinion about animal husbandry as loudly as he did, then he needs to be called on just as loudly.

"Where in the world can man find nobility without pride,

friendship without envy,

or beauty without vanity?

Here, where grace is laced with muscle,

and strength by gentleness confined.

He serves without servility,

has fought without enmity,

There is nothing so powerful,

nothing less violent,

nothing as quick,

nothing more patient.

The world's past has been borne on his back.

We are his heirs;

he is our inheritance.

The horse."

I agree with your post. However I also understand that there is a proper relationship that God has established for us in relationship to animals, including horses.

I love animals but don't believe animals are heaven bound like we are. (I'd love to be wrong however) but I must get there first myself before I worry about horses.

The little I heard of Savage's comment about this horse had nothing to do with torture or neglect of the animal, it had more to do with the people who were involved with the horse. I cannot see how one could conclude that Savage has no love for animals by his comments concerning the caretakers of this horse, I just feel post #105 is a bit much over a HORSE, dog, cat, bird, fish, cow etc.

I'm sorry this story has affected you so much. Like many on TSN thread, I had never even heard of this story until Savage brought it up so I started doing my 10 minutes of internet reasearch and what I found was astounding.

The vets and caretakers of this horse put extraordinary effort into trying to save his life. They really did wait until it was truly too late before making the decision to euthanize him.

I agree that the snide comments about insurance money were inappropriate. With all the money paid out for the last 6-8 months, any money the insurance company would provide would maybe help them break even on the vet costs.

Exactly.

I was shocked at Michael’s outright ignorance of the facts of Barbaro’s injuries and months of treatment, and I was astonished at his cruel callousness toward this good and elegant horse ......... this callousness and cruelty coming from a guy who I have come to like for a few reasons over the years, including because of his deep affection for his dog and other animals.

Tonight was a real shock and major disappointment.

Oh God, Michael's back on the subject again, questioning the injuries/insurance/motives.

And he doesn't even know how to pronounce the name, Barbaro. I thought this guy at least did his homework.

****

p.s. Is that you with your poochie?

I don't watch/listen to tennis anymore, so I can't compare, but my gawd that Seles could make noise!

He was even more out of line there because if you just do a little research at how much that horse has gone through, you wouldn't go on a radio program w/ 10-12 million listeners and accuse the vets and the caretakers of being greedy opportunists who killed a horse for insurance $$$. They aren't going to make any money off this at all.

Knowing the little I know about the situation, I probably would have had him euthanized him the day after he broke his leg. The fact that they didn't give up on him is to their credit, not to their detriment.

Sea, I don't know why anyone listens to Michael Savage. He's a mean, bombastic, self-important, rotten, ugly prick who makes little sense even on his best days. If he is politically on the Right -- and I have my doubts about that -- he is an embarrassment to those of us on the Right who can see through this phoney POS.

I don't give a rat's butt who does or does not understand how some people have hearts big enough to feel compassion for other creatures who share this planet with us.

I also don't give a flying fig if some people are incapable of understanding that having the capacity to feel compassion for animals can coexist in one human heart with the capacity to feel compassion for human beings. As far as I'm concerned, people who are incapable of understanding that also probably can't walk and chew gum at the same time.

No. That's a famous Korean actor (famous in Japan and Asia anyway) named Bae Yong Joon.

It goes along with the comment about liking cute men and cute animals. LOL!
