Interesting Garofalo story. Apparently she lost 30 pounds because Cameron Crowe had told her at a party that he loved her in The Truth About Cats And Dogs and that if she could get herself in sex-scene shape he'd like to cast her opposite Tom Hanks in his new movie.

When he landed Tom Cruise for the lead male role instead of Hanks, he ditched her for the lead female role in favor of a relative unknown named Renee Zellweger.

I think Garofalo's last role in a serious, wide-release film was Cop Land which came out around the same time.

She apparently feuded with Crowe over that incident and she's only been landing work in no-budget indie comedies since.

I agree, because they'll deep six Air America just in time to roll out the Fairness Doctrine!

CleanUp at Sleepy Gulch

Al FRanken Moves On..

Good news, hope he blows a bunch of dough running for the Senate and loses. He can be one of Soroses rebound projects.

Maybe some Freepers would like to pitch in and buy it. We could call it Freerepublic Radio.

I think that would kinda drive the point home.

>>Al Franken to depart

Well they've already done one good thing, getting rid of
his molasses-dripped voice. I think they owe him $360,000,
right? They signed him to a big multi-million dollar deal
(just like Rush! only with one tenth of one per cent of
Rush's listeners!) then overspent like crazy. $20 million
in debt but the real estate guy can afford to pay
that off, eh?

I could laugh at the very idea of Franken getting elected
but I come from a state whose moonbats succeed every time
in re-electing...Kerry and Kennedy...How's the global
warming up in Mary Richards-land, Al? Is it 20 below
zero yet?

>>Hope he loses every penny.

Wonder how much of AAR's $20 million debt he'll have to pay for...including $10 million to Real Networks billionaire
Rob Glaser.

How does the old soul/blues tune go:
"After you've gotten rid of me
Who will the next fool be?"

Stephen Green, that's who.

Off the air in liberal Boston (and the latest is soon to be off in New Haven, CT, too). The moonbats are trying to get a station to run AAR/libtalk. If it can't succeed in BOSTON!...

This reminds me ...Does anyone know what became of the sitcom that had Garofalo playing a character based on poker pro Annie Duke? A deal was announced, but I haven't heard anything since.

Who's paying off Franken? And with what money?

The deal for Air America to pay Franken millions of dollars only made sense if it was intended to pump millions into his pockets for a Senate run. An interesting way to skirt campaign finance laws.

It's probably with the new Ellen DeGeneres sitcom as having died in the pre production stage.

It would be more fun if more rich lefties kept Air America propped up for a while.

Yeah, and pouring their money down a useless (Democ)RAT hole.

I got curious enough to do a bit of research. The pilot was made but not picked up. Lisa Kudrow was the producer.
