Here's the quick clip: "YOU LOOK A LOT LIKE REAGAN"

On January 27, 2007, Mitt Romney gave the main address over dinner to the National Review Institute's Conservative Summit.

We've broken the speech down into snippets for easy digestions:

The McJuliomny posts are getting really tiresome.

Instead of the 3 Stooges, we've got the 3 RINOs.

The audience member said, "You have a distant resemblance to Ronald Reagan." Not "distinct resemblance"; but rather "distant resemblance."

That is hardly either:

"You look an awful lot like Ronald Reagan"

or

"YOU LOOK A LOT LIKE REAGAN"

"Let's say I believe firmly in Ronald Reagan's 11th commandment: Thou shalt not speak ill of a fellow Republican," Cheney said.

"I do think on the movement in the right, the areas that produced Ronald Reagan and Barry Goldwater, there is a yearning for a clearer voice of conservatism and I think Mitt Romney has an opportunity to fill that". Newt Gingrich 11/19/2006

They do both have the right hair necessary to lead the free world in the age of television.

I watched the "Abortion" one and it's clear that as far as stem cell research goes, he's against it. He gives a very compelling story to explain his conversion, leaving me to assume that he was in favor of fetal stem cell research before and is not now.

He started out speaking about "a women's right to choose", inserted a joke as a buffer to separate the issues, stuck in a Reagan reference, then slid over to the issue of test tubes and stem cells, without ever directly touching on whether he still feels a women has a "right to choose".

Since he was so adamantly willing to let women "choose" before and even insisted that as a leader he'd never impose his personal point of view when asked to sign a bill, he should address this issue squarely rather than the slidearound shown in the video.

Also, is he now willing to impose his personal views when he deals with legislation? It's an important issue. A "manager" can get by without imposing his personal views since a manager is there mostly to facilitate a process. A "leader" must communicate his views, must illuminate his values, and convince me that he's right, on the right track, and that I should follow him.

He sure looks good, though, and he is a very smooth talker

Another impressive endorsement:

Victor Davis Hanson had this to say on Romney:

The Hoover Institution has been hosting Presidential hopefuls. The latest visitor was Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney who spoke to, and received questions from, the Senior Fellows yesterday. For about one hour, he heard some tough inquiries, answered without notes, kept his cool, and talked analytically rather than in platitudes. I was impressed, and came away thinking that being a conservative governor in Massachusetts must have sharpened his debating skills and given him insights about dealing with the therapeutic mindset. I don’t know what he thought of us, but most of us thought him quite impressive.

Apparently, VDH is now one of Romney's Foreign Policy Advisors.

President Hitlery Obama certainly agrees with you. What we need is a charismatic like Duncan Whatshisname.

No, he's not. However, all he is saying is Romney has an opportunity, which he does. Newt never said Mitt was Reagan Reincarnated as some here are suggesting.

Mitt Romney has a record to check as Governor of Massachusetts on this issue.

He certainly demonstrated that he didn't believe minors had the right to choose an abortion. He imposed his personal beliefs by vetoing legislation that would have given children access to emergency contraception (morning-after pill) without the knowledge and consent of parents. Romney consistently took the pro-life position as Governor in opposition to bills from the MA legislature. He opposes Roe v. Wade and thinks states should set abortion policy.

I tend to spend more time researching the fiscal and foreign policy positions of a candidate. The more video I see of Romney's speeches, the more I'm convinced he is a brilliant man and a wonderful spokesman for the GOP.

"He opposes Roe v. Wade and thinks states should set abortion policy... he is a brilliant man and a wonderful spokesman for the GOP."

Do you have a reference for his current Roe stance?

And I agree he's a great spokesman, he has the looks, body language, and voice.

Let the FDA Know Where you Stand on the Emergency Contraception Pill

Massachusetts has become the eighth state in the nation to provide emergency contraception. Lawmakers voted on September 14, 2005 to override Governor Romney’s veto of the Emergency Contraception bill. The Senate voted 37-0 to override the veto and the House vote was 139-16. Passage of the bill makes the emergency contraception pill available without a prescription from pharmacies.
