TEHRAN (Fars News Agency)- Former US presidential nominee John Kerry voiced full support for the Islamic Republic's right to use civilian nuclear technology on the basis of the rules and regulations of the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NTP).
Addressing a world Economic Forum meeting in Davos Switzerland on Saturday, Kerry also strongly rejected West's demanded prerequisites for the resumption of nuclear talks with Iran.
Kerry, whose remarks followed a speech by Iran's former President Seyed Mohammad Khatami, stated his support for Khatami's views, and said Americans find out - only when they are outside their country - that the world is different from what they imagine.
"We should give up pessimism and pick up a realistic view," he said, and further stressed the need for the US to change its policies towards the world countries and issues.
The US politician also approved of Khatami's views about increased tension and violence in the world, and concluded, "As Mr. Khatami said, violence increased in the region after the occupation of Afghanistan, Iraq and Bin Ladenism.

The really chilling thing about this is--he was almost President of this country. And now his henchmen (and women) are in control of the House and Senate. I fear for this country.
O treasonous gigolo, please enlighten us with your superior French intellect as to exactly WHY a country which sits on a sea of oil needs nuclear power for any legitimate reason?
Kerry has no clue what's going on, and statements like this simply confirm it. Frankly, I don't even know why he gets the attention he does other than he looks like a runaway statue from Easter Island and he lost a presidential election bid.
American Jews voted 90%-10% for Kerry over Bush in 2004.

Excellent point and one that should be pushed for an answer by the likes of Kerry and his ilk.
Why? The liberal media will never report it. We have to read this from an Iranian source.

Its bad enough that this Kerry guy is sitting next to one of the world's worse terrorists and bad mouthing his country to boot, but what he is saying is a flat out lie!!
Pure scum. America rejected him as president so he allies himself with those that wish to destroy us. On a different note. I would be curious to see the economic reasoning behind 'peaceful civilian nuclear technology' in a country that sits on top of some of the largest oil reserves on the planet. It would seem that nuclear might cost more to produce.
