I'd rather die on the Harley or hang-gliding than end up in the nursing home. When my husband's aunt was placed in the NH due to Alzheimer's, we'd visit her and when I'd see all the people in there (depressing as ever), and mostly women, of course, I tol' hubby that when we turn 70 we're going to take up extreme sports like base-jumping, etc.
The study found that, by far, most of those dying are white males in their mid- to late 40s....
