They blew it in 2006 with their temper tantrums. If I have any say they are not going to blow 2008 as we all reach out to those that have been driven away and others to win the WH and Take Back Congress. We cannot afford to pander any longer to that group. The President cannot overturn abortion and his job is to uphold the law of the land even if there are some bad laws. Don't think some of them have ever gotten it through their heads that the President has no power on the subject! We do have three branches of Government!

You don't have any say. And you're not representative of Oklahoman Republicanism.

No, the establishment RINOs in party leadership blew it by ignoring the wishes of conservative Republicans and constantly forcing liberal to moderate candidates upon them. Congressional Republicans earned it by listening to President Bush's misguided domestic agenda. Nobody is entitled to anyone's vote and if you don't earn someone's vote, then you don't deserve it. Give the core conservatives what they want and you'll earn their vote. If you don't, you'll get what you deserve. It's not a temper tantrum, but a fact of life. Complaining about is like complaining about gravity making you fall down or water being so wet.

Ah, the chronic re-assessment of the GOP leadership. It's not our fault!

The GOP lost because it failed to give Reagan Democrats and independents a reason to vote for it. You cannot convince such voters that it is critical for you to stay in power to fight a war when you stuff Iraq appropriations bills full of earmarks and covort with K-Street.

And there is a reason why many such voters are called Reagan Democrats. They are drawn to pubbies who eschew Reagan's social conservatism, given they can't find such in the Dems. Rudy ain't the guy to get them back to the GOP column as a result.
