Very good point.
Myself, I was just getting a kick out of her sounding like Robert Goulet one moment, and then the next moment Tiny Tim.
;-)
Not without spontaneously combusting.
She may not know the words to our National Anthem, but I'll bet she knows the ones to The Internationale!
How many HUNDREDS of baseball/football/hockey games have I attended/watched over the years?
Someone whose ONLY GOAL IN LIFE is to sit in the Oval Office ought to have the f'ing smarts to learn the f'ing STAR SPANGLED BANNER.
World's smartest woman. Not.
God Bless Technology. This is going to be fun! :)
Hillary will destroy herself.
She knows THIS one by heart:
The Internationale: Original English Version
Original words by Eugene Pottier.
Original music by Pierre Degeyter.
Arise ye starvelings [or workers] from your slumbers
Arise ye criminals of want
For reason in revolt now thunders
and at last ends the age of cant.
Now away with all your superstitions
Servile masses arise, arise!
We'll change forthwith [or henceforth] the old conditions
And spurn the dust to win the prize.
CHORUS
Then come comrades rally
And the last fight let us face
The Internationale
Unites the human race. (repeat).
We peasants, artisans and others,
Enrolled amongst the sons of toil
Let's claim the earth henceforth for brothers
Drive the indolent from the soil.
On our flesh for too long has fed the raven
We've too long been the vultures prey.
But now farewell to spirit craven
The dawn brings in a brighter day.
CHORUS
No saviour from on high delivers
No trust we have in prince or peer
Our own right hand the chains must shiver
Chains of hatred, greed and fear.
Ere the thieves will out with their booty
And to all give a happier lot.
Each at his forge must do his duty
And strike the iron while its hot.
REPEAT CHORUS
I think the real point is that it allows Mrs. Bill Clinton to be the subject of ridicule, both for the failure to know the words and the fact that she is tone deaf as a fence post. Ridicule is a very effective tool and was useful against jon carry as well as a source of considerable amusement.
I don't want another Clinton co-presidency and I am quite willing to appear frivolous and shallow from time to time to help prevent it.
I have no doubt. People who rely on strong-arm tactics to get to where they want to be always suffer a HUGE fall. Can't WAIT for that day when she gets to see everyone she stepped on, on the way up as she's "on the way down." (Though in reality, most of those people are dead or in prison.) ;)
Wouldn't it be awesome if her (in name only) husband announced he was divorcing her between now and the primaries? (I'm so Eeeeevil!) :)
I won't be voting for a Clinton for any reason.....but this is a ridiculous thread. Wasted thought and effort. Counterproductive on many levels. Flame away. ~phil
She was so busy reminding herself to not say "MY star-spangled banner" that she didn't know what she was saying.
She was just parsing the little words--like "is" and "our."
She knew she meant "mine and my daughters" when she said "our," but she thought we wouldn't notice.
If she looses this one, I think we all need to fax her to remind her she is getting to old to run again.
Why do the evil people on this planet live so long? I mean, 40 years of her nefarious schenanigans should be MORE than enough!
Carter's still alive, so is Castro...pick any aging Dictator from the Top Ten! Grrrr! Seems we're never rid of them.
They have to suffer all the bad dreams of their future first. Their hell starts here. Hillary looks like she doesn't sleep well.
Good point. Terminally angry people usually don't sleep well. :)
Shrillary heard and repeated correctly all the other words coming through her IFB. Either she did a darn good job of extemporaneously interpolating something meaningful out of that moment of static she heard, or she can rightfully blame the sycophant incubus aide she had reading the script from the control room.
HF
Sleep and her inability to control Bill.
Carter's still alive, so is Castro...pick any aging Dictator from the Top Ten! Grrrr! Seems we're never rid of them.
I'm glad John Paul II lived as long as he did. Wish Ronald Reagan would have had a few more coherent years. Glad Maggie Thatcher is still with us.
