A third World War is already underway between Islamic militancy and the West but most people do not realize it, the former head of Israels intelligence service Mossad said in an interview published Saturday in Portugal.
We are in the midst of a third World War, former Mossad chief Efraim Halevy told weekly newspaper Expresso.
The world does not understand. A person walks through the streets of Tel Aviv, Barcelona or Buenos Aires and doesnt get the sense that there is a war going on, said Halevy who headed Mossad between 1998 and 2003.
During World War I and II the entire world felt there was a war. Today no one is conscious of it. From time to time there is a terrorist attack in Madrid, London and New York and then everything stays the same.
Violence by Islamic militants has already disrupted international travel and trade just as in the previous two world conflicts, he said.
Halevy, who was raised in war-time London, predicted it would take at least 25 years before the battle against Islamic fundamentalist terrorism is won and during this time a nuclear strike by Islamic militants was likely.
It doesnt have to be something very sophisticated, It doesnt have to be the latest nuclear technology, it can be something simple like a dirty bomb which instead of killing millions only kills tens of thousands, he said.
Halevy served as an envoy for former Israeli Prime Ministers Yitzhak Shamir, Yitzhak Rabin and Shimon Peres and is a former Israeli ambassador to the European Union.
Adm. Woolsey is wrong.
I was involved in the cold war. Are you and the Adm. trying to rewrite history?

However....
The press is the propaganda arm of the American left and they have an agenda...see this:
Nations are still aligning for what will become world war III. Unfortunately, the US is showing we dont have the resilience to go the distance. Who wants to join a losing team?
Because for so many people, denial is a permanent state of mind.
U.S. confirms troops' kidnapping in Iraq (4 GIs Handcuffed And Shot In Head)
A sobering comment....but that may be what it takes to wake up many!
Perhaps "war" is the wrong analogy, since as the Islamists themselves said, Muslim immigration to Europe is one of their most important tools to achieve dominance. By 2050, if France or Germany has a Muslim majority, they will have won those countries without having to commit a single terrorist act.
Perhaps the right analogy is "infestation." You may not even notice you've got an infestation of termites in your house until one day you start to notice your house is starting to collapse all around you. Termites have so weakened the wooden elements that by the time you notice it, it can't be fixed without drastic measures.
The radical Muslims aren't conquering Europe in the traditional sense, they're infesting it, all the while gnawing away at the structures and bonds that bind European civilization together.
compared to WWI and WWII, hot wars with major military mobilizations within all involved countries and active invasions/combat along said borders with monstrous casualties and devastation (especially WWII), it really is hard to say the cold war was a similar thing rather than a decades-long stated of armed readiness with periodic proxy wars in far-away places. This so even if an admiral thinks otherwise.
I don't what to live with 25 years of Islamic BS so lets end this war quickly by destroying the problem. Destroy all Islamic holy places.
Islam the religion in pieces.

Yeah, but not many are calling it.
Suffice to say that I agree.
The modern notion that something horrible must happen before a threat is eliminated, is a positive development of "civilized man" with which I violently disagree.
Even the notion can exist only because most people know that the odds of personally being touched by atrocities is millions to one against.
Small comfort to the actual victims, unnecessarily killed so that we can feel "more civilized".
Herakles, I think with that statement we have a winner. Most of the people in our country can not comprehend what will happen if the events now taking shape in the middle east come to fruition.
