Thank you, I'm truly pleased to hear that. But the quote wasn't my words. It was from Pope Benedict XVI's first encyclical, "God is Love."
It is from this exchange that mental, physical and spiritual healing and grace can occur. So indeed, the hand of God is involved in such a relationship, for it is in this relationship that grace can be received on many levels, from God.The relatinship can open us spiritually to properly receive that blessing, which is always there. like a river that never stops flowing. That is what sacremental marriage is all about, but we are rarely taught that when we are young. We should be. Instead we are given a bunch of rules to follow which may not make much sense. Mistakes are made.
I believe that we each unconsciously yearn for that relationship to happen, and the young man in this article seeks it, albeit in the wrong place perhaps. But he knows what it should be and his spirit likely drives him to seek it. Men therefore yearn spiritually for their perfect mate as do women. I see no wrong in what was attempted by the church here, its just that they may not know what they are doing, sort of fumbling around in the dark. I am sure that a woman exists who would fall in love with this poor lad, and they should be helping him to find her instead of getting it on commercially. That would be my only criticism.
