Don't mistake feelings for closeness to the divine
I may be wrong because I am just a common man but here goes:
I think closeness to God comes when we feed the spirit and deny the flesh. I feel closer to God when I do this anyway. I may be wrong, but I think the clergy should preach this and practice it.
Closeness to God is when I find peace in chaos. Closeness to God is when love fills my heart instead of lust. Closeness to God comes from doing what is right in His name. I have made a million mistakes in my life. A lot of times my failures have brought me closer to God too.

No mistake. And only I can know what I feel, no body has the capacity to tell me what I feel. Thats what freedom is all about. And it is a free country so far.
