A lot is going to have to change before that could happen.
Today Muslim countries are backwards and do not have the economic might to fight a long sustained all out war. Not only don't they have advanced technology they don't have heavy industry to build the weapons of war. If our survival were at stake it could be ended for good in hours. Today that is...

You are assuming we have or will have the will to fight. The fact that we have a superior military is totally irrelevant if we won't use it. Many Americans oppose the use of force for almost any reason other than direct attack on the mainland itself.
You are also assuming future wars will be fought by conventional means. A fighter jet is impressive technology, but it's mostly worthless against terrorists. Our enemies may not attack openly. Instead, they are likely to use non-state actors to do the dirty work. This will give the enemy state the ability to claim innocence, but more importantly, it will give the peaceniks here at home a reason to argue for non-action.
Finally, you are assuming spiritual forces aren't at work here. If these are indeed the end times (and I'm not saying they are, just admitting to the possibility they may be), nothing the US can do will prevent the rise of the Anti-Christ and his minions. America today doesn't even have the will to stand up to Chavez and Am-a-nut-job in Iran.
