IRAN: NUCLEAR SCIENTIST DIES UNDER MYSTERIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES
Tehran, 25 Jan. (AKI) - One of Iran's top nuclear scientists, Ardeshir Hassanpour, a professor at the university of Shiraz, has died under mysterious circumstances. Hassanpour's death was announced by Iranian state television, a week late, on Thursday. No reason was given for his death. The scientist was proclaimed the best scientist in the military field in the Islamic Republic in 2003. Hassanpour directed the centre for nuclear electromagnetic studies he had founded in 2005.
He had also co-founded the center for atomic research in Isfahan, the most important in the country, Iranian state television reported.
Last year, Ardeshir Hassanpour was awarded Iran's most prestigious scientific award, the Kharazmi prize.
Maybe it is just a simple case of a demonstrated reason why even the Europeans have been telling them that it is best to have oversight by nations that have been at this for a while.
They're gonna blame...guess who...again...THE JOOS!!
It's quite possible that the Iranians no longer found him usefull.
"a professor at the university of Shiraz"
I could go with a good Shiraz right now!
cuz they waited a week to report it?
Sorry, I wanted to be first and didn't spell check.
My first thought
If this happened, it's clearly news -- either good or bad.
A lot easier to deal with the aftermath than leveling Tehran with a Jericho...
Well, I feel sorry for the guy. He was in a bad line of work. Here's hoping his in a better place.
On the usefulness note, could it be possible that he just might have been the source for the enriched uranium deal in Georgia we have been hearing about?
Sure, that is most likely a Russian deal but one never knows eh?
Your guess was the same first thought that came to my mind.
Perhaps he wasn't taking the program in the direction that somebody wanted him to.
Sounds like the "Long Arm" reached out and touched him.
Bush hired the Clinton Mafia
Urainus 169...not to be confused with Uridium.
Very common in the Muslim world.
Well, DUH! It's always the Joooooooooooooooooos!
I have alot of crazy thoughts about what this could mean. Hopefully, whatever it actually is, it will see movement on this issue in the international community.
A case of acute Mossad ...
Now we have an interesting method to stop Iran's nuclear program in its tracks. No military, no sanctions, no talk, just some good assasination teams.
Think about taking Kahn out in Pakistan in 1977. Program over, so sorry.
"Did the Israelis whack him or did our guys whack him?
Discuss."
As far as I can recall, it's never even been rumored that the U.S. whacked a scientist. Stories have made the rounds concerning the Israelis and the KGB. There was the British gent who was going to build Saddam a really big cannon. And there were a couple of British aerospace engineers who died under somewhat suspicious circumstances.
