Abortion continues, Roe vs Wade is still in effect, and Bush is the most pro-life President in the last 50 years. 20 posted on 01/25/2007 7:51:53 PM EST by Extremely Extreme Extremist Bush has done his part by picking two anti-abortion judges for the Supreme Court. We need one more pick for SOTU to overturn Roe v. Wade. How will we get that pick with Guiliani in the White House?

How do you get it with Hillary? FWOW, we lost our best current chance when November's election went to the democrats.
From what I've read, Rudy would appoint SCOTUS Justices like Scalia, Roberts and Alito, with Scalia being his favorite.

Bush has done about everything within a President's power to curb abortion. Pretty much all of the things he's done, with the exception of Roberts and Alito, would be almost instantly reverse under Rudy Giuliani. The Mexico City policy, overseas funding of abortion, NARAL and Planned Parenthood at the public trough, ban on Partial Birth Abortion, public funding of Embryonic Stem Cell research and cloning, and on and on....
There is SO much to lose for the Pro-Life movement with a Rudy victory that it's frightening.

How will we get that pick with Guiliani in the White House? You'll have a better chance then having a Dem in the White House
In the Primaries .. I will vote for who I think is the best candidate to represent conservative values
Though .. Come the General Election .. I will 100% support whoever the Republican candidate is

That said, his past statements and other actions (cue the obligatory Rudy drag queen pic) are just that and has little or no significance in 2008.

You guys don't get it. Social issues are not going to dominate the 2008 election.
The election will be all about finding a strong, center-right candidate who'll be on the right side of social issues but won't exclusively run on them like Brownback is going to do (and he'll be one of the first candidates out of the race too).
I don't care if Rudy dressed up in drag, that he married his cousin or slept with gays when he got kicked out of the Gracie mansion. Hunter is not electable, but he would make a helluva VP. What if Rudy, upon winning the nomination, chooses Hunter as his VP? Will you support the ticket or committ suicide off a high-rise?
