Hollywood may be debating who to support in the 2008 presidential election, but Dame Elizabeth Taylor already has her woman -- Hillary Rodham Clinton.
In a statement on Thursday, the actress said, "I have contributed to Sen. Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign because she has a mind of her own and a very strong one at that. I like the way she thinks. She is very savvy and a smart leader with years of experience in government, diplomacy and politics."
A spokesman for the 74-year-old actress said she had contributed $2,100 to the New York Democratic senator, the legal limit an individual can give in a primary campaign. Earlier the spokesman had said Taylor gave $100,000, but said that was an incorrect figure based on misinformation

'Liz Taylor backs Hillary Clinton in presidential race'
Can there be any better way to underscore the plain fact that missus clinton is over the hill (pardon the pun)???
Q SCORE With a Q score—a measure of celebrity likability among the hoi polloi—in the toilet, missus clinton can win elections only by running virtually unopposed... and then only with the help of protheses, props, poses, PR machines, scripted appearances, screened audiences, vetted questions, Secret Service barracades, softball settings and sycophantic hosts, fictionalizing, humanizing, digitizing and otherwise hiding the real hillary clinton. And then we have the baggage.... Anyone else but a clinton would have been summarily laughed off the stage. The American people must understand that to get this defective candidate elected, the clintons must pervert the electoral process, turn democracy on its head. That is to say, the best candidate must lose. Hence the threats to the big donors..... by Mia T, 01.25.07 THE CLINTON MACHINE IS 'TRYING TO STRANGLE THE OBAMA CANDIDACY IN ITS CRADLE' AN OPEN LETTER TO HOLLYWOOD NB: DreamWorks, George Clooney, Matt Damon, Ben Affleck, Oprah Winfrey, Oliver Stone, Ari Emanuel et al.

Thanks. It is always so helpful to know who the really, really smart, politically wise people are backing. BTW, anybody know what's the latest on Liz's buddy Jacko?

All the buzz words fit to make a good power whore (And I don't mean just Hillary) and elitist.
Give me George Washington any day, rather have a person reluctant for the job than a collectivist desperate to rule over us.

I wanted to add that she always looked great in black and white photos.
Her face in that one is, ....... well perfect.
Back when she was about 14 she looked (and acted) so mature and so much older that it was hard for the movie makers to place her in movies at the time.

My mum, in SoCal in the 40s, met Elizabeth Taylor, through Liz Taylor's cousin. It wasn't just the "star" thing, mum said Liz was truly beautiful and friendly.

It's funny, my mother whose father (my grandfather) was the head of a large eastern University met Elizabeth and Mickey Rooney back around the same time. My mother was about eight years older than Elizabeth at the time and always talked about what a perfectly sweet, courteous, and well-spoken girl she was. And of course she was strikingly beautiful.
But the movie industry ground her up I suppose. What a shame.

How can anyone determine who anyone really is/whom one is -- when one's life is all about "role playing"?
As opposed to "doing one's part".
Herein lies the difference between liberals and conservatives, I think. Conservatives do their part.
