Can anyone tell me if there is an "insiders" meaning to taking a sip of water? GWB and Cheney both took a sip of water right after George really stuck it to the Dems at one point in the State of the Union address. It seemed coordinated!

Our youngest son once walked into our living room, said "If a rock fell on your head, it would really hurt", sipped his drink and walked out. It is now an in joke for my family for whenever wisdom falls from the mouths of babes to pantomime taking a sip.

In my barfly days, after one threw a barb at another, it was not uncommon for the thrower to raise his eyebrows and look at the reciever over the rim of his glass as he sipped.
