Beast Picture Award

Culture: Hollywood hipsters are at it again, waxing artsy about "sensitive" child-rape cinema and "tasteful" self-realization through horse sex. From that very low place, they still have the gall to scold Middle America.

Movie idol Robert Redford presented some of the most decadent movies at his chic Sundance Film Festival in Utah this week. He, of course, defended them as art.

Among Redford's choice morsels are "Hounddog," whose five-minute depiction of the rape of a 12-year-old is likely to titillate every child molester from Phnom Penh to Hamburg.

Another, called "Zoo," is a supposedly "tasteful" depiction of bestiality, where the sick little world of horse perverts is now just another alternative lifestyle and a new kind of Hollywood romance.

These are only the latest trends in Hollywood "morality" — the old staples are there, too. At Sundance, blasphemy goes full blast in "The Ten," in which actress Winona Ryder performs a sex act on a ventriloquist's dummy and mocks the Ten Commandments.

The totalitarian left's pedestal also remains firm. Redford himself set that tone at the the festival by calling on President Bush to apologize for the Iraq war. But the politics don't end there.

The festival's "Blame it on Fidel" depicts a small child yanked from her "beloved" catechism class to get indoctrinated as a Castroite communist. It makes her a better person. And what better place than Sundance land for "Cocalero," which romanticizes Bolivia's dictatorial leader as a noble savage in a sea of coca leaves?

Hey, they are just adding a "B" and a "P" to the GLBT alliance. Let us not be beastophobic nor pedophobic but open to interspecies and intergenerational sex. Sarc

The media savvy left has been working towards the destruction of American society for one hundred years. Those who objected at each step of the way have been mocked as being overly sensitive and alarmist.

Each new degradation is portrayed first as a harmless curiosity, then the subject for humor, then as a matter of fact part of life and finally as something so normal that only those who need therapy would consider it otherwise.

This has been the pattern with adultery, fornication, homosexuality and polygamy.

Coming next are incest, bestiality and pedophilia.

Only question is -- what can be done about it?

Sundance's horse-sex epic was called not filthy but "tasteful" and "a strangely poetic nonfiction movie" with a "formally sophisticated and almost dreamy beauty." Los Angeles Times reviewer called the movie "poetic," "strangely beautiful" and "lyrical."

For the rest of us, it's just the creepy result of the cultural coarsening that Hollywood has pioneered.

Exactly.

Isn't illegal even to simulate child pornography? Wouldn't that rape seen..even with an adult acting the girl's part be illegal?
Maybe one of our experts out there knows.

"Brokeback Stables", huh? I always wondered how Butch and Sundance spent their lonely nights while running from the law. Me, personally, I'd have stayed home with the broad.

Do the filmmakers recall that Jodie Foster's role in Taxi Driver inspired Hinckley to stalk her and later shoot President Reagan? I guess they don't care what kind of crimes will be committed by sick people who take their films to heart.

Just Hollywood giving the rest of the Country the Middle Finger, again.

These clowns are so arrogant, That if God was to wipe Hollywood off the face of the earth the survivors would demand that all in Heaven attend mandatory "Sensitivity Training".

The Horse Whisperer, The Electric Horseman.

Sounds like Robert is in to more than just whispering and lighting up horses. Kinky guy this redford.

Why isnt the picture involving the rape of a 12 year old being prosecuted as Kiddie porn?
