Sen. Jim Thinskin Webb (D-WashPo) has received his first grades from Virginians and they are not so hot. Overall, Webbs net approval rating is minus 5 percent while our senior senator, John Warner, enjoys a plus 33 percent approval rating. Heck, even George Allen was plus 1 percent in December after Webb defeated him the previous month. Sounds as if Virginia is already experiencing buyers remorse on this lemon.

Is this before or after that hateful rebuttal speech he gave the other night?
To: ReagansRaiders
I hope Allen unseats him next time around.

I think I have the worst political instincts in the Country because I always feel folks are going to see through the Dems and they don't. However, I would love to see if there is some "buyer's remorse" among the electorate. I think now that folks have had a chance to see these folks up close and personal, they are not happy they made the choices they did.

The people of Virginia are still stuck with Webb as one of their two senators for almost six more years unless he dies or gets convicted of a felony. Perhaps they should have asked what kind of a senator he would be before they voted for him rather than just go with the touchy-feely that he doesn't much like President Bush's handling of the Global War on Terrorists.

President Bush's job approval ratings, touted as being so low, surpass Webb's and Warner's.

I really have no idea what they base these polls on...this doesn't include Webb's speech Tuesday night...so, what has he done??
Nothing...I think there have only been a few votes in the Senate of consequence.
This is an example of how stupid polls are...I am glad his is a negative one...I don't like him, but I would love to know what they base it on.

Virginia's new senator delivered the Democratic response to President Bush's State of the Union message. Virginia's new senator delivered the Democratic Socialist Party response to President Bush's State of the Union message.
There. I fixed it.

"Is this before or after that hateful rebuttal speech he gave the other night?"Sometimes reading the article instead of just the headline will give you the answer.
From Article: SurveyUSA polled 600 Virginia adults between January 12 and January 14, so the rating does not reflect reaction to Webb's appearance on national television last night.

While I'll laugh hard at this on the blogs, this is obviously a response to his threat to hit the President, not about anything he's done in the one week he was serving as senator before this poll was taken.
If is funny that his approval rating is already way lower than Allen's was AFTER he lost the election.
To: Txsleuth
I suspect this is because of the negative publicity he got from threatening to hit the President and being all huffy about not being in a picture with him and not answering a mannerly question about his son.
That incident got a lot of play, mostly negative.
