CHENEY CALLS BLITZER QUESTION ON DAUGHTER'S PREGNANCY 'OUT OF LINE' Wed Jan 24 2007 13:41:22 ET
In an interview taped to air for today's 'Situation Room' on CNN, Vice President Cheney responded sharply to anchor Woilf Blitzer's line of questioning regarding the pregancy of Cheney's lesbian daughter:
Blitzer: Your daughter Mary, she's pregnant. All of us are happy. She's going to have a baby. You're going to have another grandchild. Some of the -- some critics, though, are suggesting, for example, a statement from someone representing Focus on the Family:
"Mary Cheney's pregnancy raises the question of what's best for children. Just because it's possible to conceive a child outside of the relationship of a married mother and father, doesn't mean it's best for the child."
Do you want to respond to that?
THE VICE PRESIDENT: No, I don't.
Blitzer: She's obviously a good daughter --
VICE PRESIDENT: I'm delighted -- I'm delighted I'm about to have a sixth grandchild, Wolf, and obviously think the world of both of my daughters and all of my grandchildren. And I think, frankly, you're out of line with that question.
Blitzer: I think all of us appreciate --
VICE PRESIDENT: I think you're out of -- I think you're out of line with that question.
Blitzer: -- your daughter. We like your daughters. Believe me, I'm very, very sympathetic to Liz and to Mary. I like them both. That was just a question that's come up and it's a responsible, fair question.
VICE PRESIDENT: I just fundamentally disagree with your perspective.

Continuing asking it several times after Cheney's response was WAY out of line.
Wolf DESPISES the Cheney's and he Lynne had to smack him down the last time she was on his show!
I think they hired JC Watts because he is that way...I have noticed that since Bill Bennett has been on CNN..he isn't as "conservative" sounding as he was on Fox.
His response was perfectly appropriate, in my opinion, and more gentlemanly than Blitzer deserved.
You can NOt be serious.....you think Dick Cheney has THIN SKIN?? You try to take one MILLIONTH of the CRAP Questions he has taken graciously....I'll bet you won't even take THIS criticism without having a tiffy fit.
When the VP of the United States tells you,you are out of line you should STFU.

No parent should have to put up with a stupid question like this. Obviously Cheney would rather his daughter were straight and married, However a parents love is without limit.

Thin skinned my a**. It is no one's business what the VPs daughters do or don't do. Not only Wolf was being a little sh** by pretending the question came from elsewhere when in reality he was the one asking. Cheney was perfectly correct in telling him he was out of line. More power to him.
I noticed Cheney was looking for someone last night during the SOTU address! Must have been Blitzer!
Just thought of this, my bad I guess,but maybe Wolf should go over and ask Hillary if she had a DNA taken of Chelsea to see if it matched Bill or Webb
He seems so concerned about Republicans. maybe he should get in a few family questions on Hillary

This is not that bigga deal. Normally, there is nobody with thicker skin then Dick Cheney. In this case it was obviously difficult for Cheney to handle the truth and answer the questions.
But CNN hasn't learned: DON'T EFF WITH THE CHENEYS!!!
Bark all you want. The Cheney daughers are not children or teenagers. They're public figures just like Mrs Cheney and the VPOTUS.
