How do you know they didn't mention it to the agents that responded? Until the courts and DOJ release the testimony, we can only go by what was reported at the time. Compean and Ramos said they thought they saw a gun. Aldrete-Davila -- who fled across the border with any evidence, and didn't return for a month -- says he didn't. Of course, some of those agents weren't allowed to testify, so who knows if we'll ever know the whole story.
Why all the secrecy in this trial?
3 Sealed Motions
9 Sealed Documents
5 Sealed jury notes
5 Motions in Limine*
Was that because the jury never would have believed an illegal alien drug smuggler, the entire basis for the prosecution's case? Why not present all evidence in the case and let the jury decide?
*Motion in Limine: A request submitted to the court before trial in an attempt to exclude evidence from the proceedings. A motion in limine is usually made by a party when simply the mention of the evidence would prejudice the jury against that party, even if the judge later instructed the jury to disregard the evidence.
What does a motion in limine have to do with secrecy? I file them all the time in cases, as does every single attorney that tries a case. It is a mere evidentiary ruling.
Because the other agents testified to that fact. And please, let's not get back into the "prosecution is lying" crap.
many thanks for your post and your viewpoint!!
