That prompted us to have a rummage for more humour from the furniture makers of Älmhult.

This one, produced for the German market last summer, was reportedly banned after the Swedes found it insulting:

My comment: I have no comment (I think this is the "safest" alternative of choice in this case. And yes, I usually head for safety. I am, in fact, utterly Swedish. I've owned several Volvos and have decided to buy yet another one. I make sure to wear a safety belt and a government approved helmet - while brushing my teeth. On the planet where I dwell, it is regarded as a natural approach to everyday life.)

Seriously speaking, I agree that particular ad wasn't funny at all, just wretched.

The clip featuring the true nature of Swedish Midsummer celebration however is in possession of Oscar winning potential - and anyone wishing to come to Sweden for work or whatever for a couple of years ought to mentally prepare himself/herself by watching it.
