The Coming Amnesty Disaster (Michelle Malkin)
townhall.com ^ | 1/24/07 | Michelle Malkin

Posted on 01/24/2007 3:54:14 AM PST by beyond the sea

Last month, President Bush signed off on a few dog-and-pony illegal immigrant employment raids. Whoop-de-doo. Politically expedient holiday gestures over, the White House is now back to work pushing its long-planned, massive alien amnesty. The state of the borders, green card process and entrance system for visitors and tourists? Porous. Chaotic. Understaffed. And overwhelmed.

But no matter. Mouthing his same old, bogus platitudes about the need to allow "undocumented workers" to do the job Americans won't do (never mind all those Americans who immediately lined up to apply for those meatpacking jobs after the December raids), Bush wants to pile millions of new "guest worker" illegal alien applicants onto the teetering homeland security bureaucracy.

The results will be disastrous. What President Bush didn't mention in the State of the Union address is that every part of the current legal immigrant applicant machinery that would be tasked with implementing the "guest worker" illegal alien amnesty is backlogged and broken.

Last November, congressional investigators reported that the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) had lost track of 111,000 files in 14 of the agency's busiest district offices and processed as many as 30,000 citizenship applications last year without the required files.

.............

"It only takes one missing file of somebody with links to a terrorist organization to become an American citizen," Grassley, who is chairman of the Senate Finance Committee, noted in The Washington Post. "We can't afford to be handing out citizenship with blinders on."

Or legal status. Multiply that by several million in the case of Bush's guest worker program. Can you spell d-i-s-a-s-t-e-r?

You know, I was going to start arguing this issue, but I decided that I will give up.

Anything she wants the President to do is DOA anyway, since we don't have the majority and the democrats are not interested in any type of border reform at all.

They didn't get the message on Nov. 2. Enough people are upset about this that they lost, and they still don't admit it. Unbelievable!

"The FBI's background check backlog for legal immigrant applicants stands at a reported 100,000 files, which have been waiting for action for a year or longer. At least they didn't shred them all (uh, as far as we know) -- which is what federal contractors did at the immigration center in Laguna Niguel, Calif., over the last several years. To rid itself of a 90,000-document backlog, supervisors ordered workers to destroy passports, birth certificates, approval notices, change of address forms, diplomas and money orders. Then they reported that they had reduced the backlog to zero. Poof! "

What a government.

Newt was right last week when he said one of the worst conditions in this country that needs to be fixed are the bureaucracies. They are all broken he said.

Cool.

Amnesty for ILLEGALS is a killer for whoever signs on to the idea. What the hell is wrong with this president? This would be a worse reputation breaker then his fathers,"NO NEW TAXES" line of B.S.
While voting twice for President Bush I will forever think poorly of him if he pushes this.

I hear you. I just posted Michelle, because she gets people fired up and rightfully so.

G.W. is certainly not to be blamed, at least not by himself.

(Imo), there are lots of higher ups who are moving and shaking things.

Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America is a real sweet arrangement, and the citizens of this "Republic" have nothing to say about it.

What's with that? Where is the Constitution?

I cannot explain nor understand why politicians of both parties are so interested in allowing Mexican citizens and anyone else who wants to,to walk into our country in unlimited numbers.

Is President Bush at fault in this.? Well lets just say he is doing nothing to stop it and indeed seems to be encouraging it.

I note that developers and general contractors have been loving life the last 20 years thanks to our friends from south of the border.

I also note that house prices have not leveled off or decreased even when indexed for inflation as the shrinking labor costs associated with using illegals hasn't been reflected in the market.

It's the most subtle and socially acceptable form of racism, i.e., treating all Mexican illegals as a single voting bloc. Unfortunately, the politicians can see only as far as the next election and it's simply a numbers game to them.

A Juan Montoya will never be able to afford a Georgetown townhouse or an estate in Bucks County PA so what does Sen. Krupt (nod to Bob Thaves) really care at the end of the day?

This whole thing has been in the cards for a very long time.

Rep. Tom Tancredo, R-Colo., has asked Commerce Secretary Carlos Gutierrez in a letter to suspend plans that would further a proposal known as the "Security and Prosperity Partnership," until Congress has a chance to examine its goals.

Tancredo, “............the United States should not engage in the construction of a North American Free Trade Agreement Superhighway System or enter into a North American Union with Mexico and Canada."

"North American Competitive Council" goes even further, Tancredo said, by recommending "The Secretary of DHS [Department of Homeland Security] … set up a limited short term pass program or otherwise facilitate people who come to the border without documents," and that "... a reasonable grace period should be established at border crossings during which time people without documents are educated about their options and allowed to pass."

SECURITY AND PROSPERITY PARTNERSHIP BACKGROUND

http://www.newswithviews.com/Cuddy/dennis73.htm

(snip) --

2002---David Rockefeller, chairman of the CFR 1970-1985 and Trilateral Commission founder, authors MEMOIRS, in which he remarks: "Some even believe we (Rockefeller family) are part of a secret cabal working against the best interests of the United States, characterizing my family and me as 'internationalists' and of conspiring with others around the world to build a more integrated global political and economic structure---one world, if you will. If that's the charge, I stand guilty, and I am proud of it."

.......... and then there's that leaker, Jay R..

Amnesty should be voted on by the people, not by old politicians for political gain. This deserves a people vote!!! Bush and Republicans should call for a nationwide referendum.

So why is Mike Pence turning traitor with his interview on Kudlow & Co. yesterday endorsing a guest worker program ?

At the end of the interview he sensed he had gone too far so he tried to distance himself by adding the stipulation that illegals be 'temporarily' deported before being re-admitted as guest workers.

Are all Republicans going insane ?

Well, I agree, and if you think that is true, how about the abomination, SECURITY AND PROSPERITY PARTNERSHIP.

let's see..amnesty would create 20 million new tax payers
along with minimum wage increases, putting business owners in a bind (health insurance, tax responsibilities, accounting measures)

Do you think politico's are interested in votes?..or the money new tax payers would put into government coffers?

Do you think the politico's are thinking about the average tax paying American citizen today?. What the unemployment rate is going to be when illegals start pushing wages up and the companies start laying people off?

Maybe it's the result of a latent gene in white political male adults.
