DEBATE OVER RELEASE OF GERMAN RAF ASSASSIN
Possible Parole for Unapologetic Terrorist
Brigitte Mohnhaupt, serving five life sentences for her part in a deadly 1970s terrorism campaign, may be released on parole in March after 24 years in jail. Prosecutors say it's time to show mercy because she no longer poses a danger to society. Victims' relatives want her to show remorse first.
Wanted photo of former RAF terrorist Brigitte Mohnhaupt. A German terrorist serving five life sentences plus 15 years for her involvement in a campaign of murder and kidnapping that traumatized West Germany in the 1970s may be released in March after federal prosecutors backed her appeal for parole this week.
Brigitte Mohnhaupt, 57, who was a senior member of the Red Army Faction (RAF), has spent more than 24 years in jail for her part in the murders of three top members of Germany's establishment -- a banker, a prosecutor, and the president of the employers' federation.
The federal prosecutor's office supported her appeal for parole after a psychological report concluded that she no longer poses a danger to society. The senior regional court in Stuttgart, southwestern Germany, is due to decide on the request in early February.

Exhibit A among the reasons why the West is in such grave danger in the war on terror....this spineless failure to understand the nature and severity of the threat. It seems that for many in Germany, including prosecutors and spouses of victims, that all should be forgiven if this terrorist shows remorse and says "I'm sorry".
Apparently now in Germany at least, 5 life sentences plus fifteen years for multiple murders and terrorism translates into 24 years behind bars, providing you say you are sorry.
May God help us all.......

Another example of why terrorist scum must be executed, not coddled in prison until moronic libs want to release them.

Three murders and not at least 50 years ?

Five life sentences plus fifteen years
equals twenty-four years!
If they let her out I hope she gets run over by a tram!

Although there would be some measure of poetic justice associated with such an event, the larger problem would remain, that being the failure of so very many to take murder and terrorism seriously.

There is no way to predict her future behavior. Using a prediction as a rationalization is a non-sequitur of the first degree.

There is no way to predict her future behavior. Using a prediction as a rationalization is a non-sequitur of the first degree.Agreed, and this notion reminds me of those who so shrilly lecture the rest of us on the supposed gentle temperament of certain dog breeds when the news is full of human deaths and maulings associated with that same breed. To assume a Nostradamic prescience over future behaviors in a sentient being is the height of arrogance.
It also negates Society's ability to make the essential statement that such behavior will not be tolerated. Even engaging in talk over whether such an obscene parole is justified undermines the essential fabric of Law.

At worst, their self-hatred, misunderstanding of history and misplaced feelings of guilt translate into an active and relentless fifth column which is dedicated to the destruction of their nation and culture from within.

It is sick isn't it? It's goign to happen. If the parole does happen, it will provide an excellent definition of the current state of German society.
Islamo-nazis are watching, and they will rub their hands in glee at this latest in a long line of examples of German, and Western, weakness.
Early parole if you say that you're sorry? This alone will recruit legions of jihadists.

"A German terrorist serving five life sentences plus 15 years for her involvement in a campaign of murder and kidnapping"
Five x Life + 15 (Kidnapping)= 24 years.
Am I the only one confused?
This is exactly why we need to keep and enforce capital punishment. 20 years down the road when the dust settles and victims are long forgotten the vermin even in the US is often released, sometimes just to be a repeat offender. Frankly I don't care if people like that are rehabilitated according to some PhD who's making an educated guess based on some perceived observation where the "victim" (The incarcerated in the shrinks mind) is acting for the shrink.
They deserve to hang publicly like they use to in the US. People often tell me "The death penalty is about revenge" as if this should turn my view somehow. Yea, it's about revenge, so what? It brings closure to the victims who are are forgotten in these cases. Someone baleling about closure does little; the pedophile murderer dangling on a string, that is an "end". It eliminates this persons memories and thoughts from mankind and the gene-pool. The person being executed gets to feel the horror of being executed just like his victims. The idea of a public hanging like this just makes me want to pack a pick-nick basket and mark it as a family outing on my calender.
