The Question of Carter’s Cash

THE EX-PRESIDENCY The Question of Carter’s Cash In which our reporter follows the money

CLAUDIA ROSETT

Did Jimmy Carter do it for the money? That’s the question making the rounds about Palestine: Peace Not Apartheid, an anti-Israeli screed recently written by the ex-president whose Carter Center has accepted millions in Arab funding.

Even in Carter’s long history of post-presidential grandstanding, this book sets fresh standards of irresponsibility. Purporting to give a balanced view of the Palestinian–Israeli conflict, Carter effectively shrugs off such highly germane matters as Palestinian terrorism. The hypocrisies are boundless, and include adoring praise of the deeply oppressive, religiously intolerant Saudi regime side by side with condemnations of democratic Israel. In one section, typical of the book’s entire approach, Carter includes a “Historical Chronology,” from Biblical times to 2006, in which he dwells on events surrounding his 1978 Camp David Accords but omits the Holocaust. Kenneth W. Stein, the founder of the Carter Center’s Middle East program, resigned last month to protest the book, describing it in a letter to Fox News as “replete with factual errors, copied materials not cited, superficialities, glaring omissions, and simply invented segments.” As this article goes to press, more protest resignations, this time from the Carter Center’s board of councilors, appear to be in the works.

But remember the rules: Democrats get away with everything and Repubs go to jail. Carter skates.

I suspect Rosalind made it clear he can pander all he wants and play the lie-for-bucks game, but no the virgin buffet line is not on his "diet".

And, like the clinton koolaid democrats, there will always be blind democrats who can only worship such a fool as Jimmy proves himself to be. LIBERALISM is a disease, so trying to apply logical thinking to the victims of this disease is useless. Jimmy, like the degenerate clinton, is merely a pustule in the disease manifestation.

Ironically, I think this book is good for those of use who think Carter is a nut. It has been widely panned and he exposes him to be what we have said about him for years.

"and Venezuela (whose anti-American strongman Hugo Chávez benefited in a 2004 election from the highly controversial monitoring efforts of the Carter Center)."

Lookie here. Looks like a quid pro quo. Legitimize my election and we'll send some green to your center. Total conflict of interest but of course the "hotel lobby" MSM can't be bothered to investigate it.

Carter may not be brought to justice in this life, but he WILL be brought to justice. I have no idea where his soul stands with God, but you have to wonder about someone who repeatedly turns a blind eye to evil for his own personal gain.

On the evening of the opening of the 2004 Democratic Convention, Carter was interviewed on PBS by Jim Lehrer. Carter bemoaned at length the "lack of civilty" in American politics.

Two hours later he proceeded to the convention hall itself, where he grinningly welcomed Michael Moore to the Presidential Box.

That's all you need to know about "Jimmy Carter and civility in American politics."

yup- me either- it would appear he was never saved, as what comes from his heart is pure evil-, and the fact that he is so virulently opposed to God's own people, both Jews and Christians. I'm not sure he ever had a heart altering salvation experience- it would appear his 'experience' was more of a mind knowledge devoid of saving grace.

I'm not sure if a born again person can be so deceived as he has been- it would seem that the Holy Spirit surely would keep after his moral conscience, but perhaps blindness can set in- so like you I can't judge his hearts condition, but I can judge what comes out of his heart.

Let us also not forget that his brother Billy Carter recieved a $240,000 wire transfer from Libya's Mohamar Khadafy shortly before the Iranians seized our embassy in Tehran...

...that's *never* been explained.

The Carter Center itself makes much in promotional materials of its efforts to strengthen democracies by “promoting government transparency.” Is Carter so rigidly certain of his rectitude that he believes himself exempt from his own preaching?

Oh my, Claudia Rosett really has a way with words.
