Hagel Still Thinking About 2008
Sen. Chuck Hagel said "that if he launches a campaign for the presidency in 2008 he would do so as a Republican. But the Nebraskan didn't completely rule out a bid as an independent," the Omaha World Herald reports.
Bite your tongue;)
"Hello. I'm Chuck Hagel, and I'm sick about it."
That should be his campaign slogan. It's apt, isn't it?
That said, you ain't got a chance. :-)
Hagel, the vanity must be warping your mind; don't even embarrass yourself.
Keep thinking, Chuckie!! You'll just be another non-starter on the road to obscurity if you decide to run.
I hope he's thinking about running as a Democrat then, 'cause he doesn't have a snowball's chance as a Republican!
Look, Im a long-shot for the Republican nomination, Hagel admitted. McCain, Guiliani, and Romney are all lining up as hawks. My only chance is if the whole war is a disaster. This resolution is a risk-free way for me to help bring that about. Without a united country behind him, Bush cant win this. At the same time, Im on the right side of the polls. I could be seen both as a visionary and a man of the people. Its my best option if Im ever going to be president.

I don't think those are real quotes...
Sen. Hagel (R-France)
;)
But they really are.
Do you think this one is real?:
"House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence Chairman Rep. Silvestre Reyes (D-Tex) confessed he had mixed feelings on the proposed resolution. At first, I was for sending more troops, Reyes said. You know, to crack down on those militia guys. But then when I heard Bush say he was for sending more troops I turned against the idea. Some are saying this is just knee-jerk opposition to the President. But when you know as little as I do about this whole jihad thing using your head is not an option.
That's my point. It's pretty low to try to use fake quotes from a satirical piece and try to pass them off as his/her real words.
lol
Hagel was invested in an American defeat in Iraq even before Saddam's statue was toppled. He's tried to exploit the war to advance his own political ambitions. The anti-war crowd has two "solutions" - cut-and-run or cut-and-walk. They don't have the slightest concern or conception for the disastrous consequences that an American defeat would have on our ability to combat international terrorism and how much it would encourage the Islamofascists and all other enemies.
Less IMO.
Oh, is he running for dogcatcher?
That begs the question... Do two half-a$$ed Republicans make one whole Republican? Probably not, more like one regular Democrat a$$.
