It was funny to see them dance around the REAL reason why the city is losing its financial edge. It's because of the city's onerous regulations and high taxes. Naturally since Schumer and Bloomberg are both a couple of pro high taxes and pro-government regulation liberals, they dared not mention that.
The report also raises the idea of creating a special "international financial services zone" in New York, where tax breaks and other incentives could be used to lure new foreign firms.
Companies already have that. They are called states with low taxes and government regulations.
As long as Bloomberg and Schumer do not the real reasons why, this trend will continue.
As an aside, I have to laugh everytime I see some northeastern politician try to tell other regions of the country how things are done. Why would anyone listen to some fool from this region, given the mess that exists in the northeast? Heck, you could insert the name of almost any northeastern state into this report and it would still apply.
