This whole scene is filled with symbolism. Wearing black signifying mourning yet covered with red signifying power, control and anger. Brown background signifying down to earth.
To her right signifying what is important to her is a lit lamp which signifies spirituality. Under the light is a lamb to signify Christ and peace. Under the lamb are books to signify wisdom.
To her left (their right) are pictures of husband, daughter and friends "standing by her side". Her family is placed under roses which signify love and appreciation.
She is sitting which signifies humbleness and authority (Kings sit).
She is framed by large windows which signifies openness and transparency's.
The window is open showing the created world full of life.
A stool symbolizing rank, dignity authority.
