Nope. Wooden posts are put in cement (usually 4"x4"), then the horizontal boards (2"x4")and the pickets attached to those boards in a permanent fashion using screws or nails.

Maybe yours are actually stronger but the beauty of our is that if a panel does get damaged if the post has survived all you need to do is replace that panel.

You might also explain, Morgan, that most of the soil around there is too unstable to use only stakes for fencing.

A note about the wind velocities Northwest of Denver might also be in order........like the January winds off Rocky Flats that get up over 100 MPH and blow some of those wooden fence panels out of the ground and halfway to Nebraska. (I used to live in Broomfield and saw it happen.)
