A soldier based in Iraq got this response when inquiring as to whether or not the company ships overseas. He wanted to get the troops better gear to sleep on.
To Whom it may concern:
Do you ship to APO addresses?
I'm in the 1st Cavalry Division stationed in Iraq and we are trying to order some mats but we are looking for who ships to APO first.

SGT Hess,
We do not ship to APO addresses, and even if we did, we would NEVER ship to Iraq.
If you were sensible, you and your troops would pull out of Iraq.

Will re read this during the day when more awake and see what to come up with. Not a smart move by this company.
So far I've emailed this story to Blackfive milblog, Michelle Malkin, Sean Hannity, Laura Ingraham, Rush, Hugh Hewitt, John Gibson of FoxNews (and others at FoxNews).
Did anybody ping the Canteeners to this yet?
I think we're handling it correctly now. This story has legs all over the Web, and even discussing things like repeated hook flashes or DOS attacks could rebound on FR. Convincing customers to take their business elsewhere is the way to deal with these jerks.
You have FRmail
You are correct.
Mod, would you please nuke my #44? We're better than that.

Good call, my FRiend.

Thank you both very much. Fit of pique.
Companies, IN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, like this need to be taught a lesson. I predict a BIG shining light will be focused on this over the next couple of days by some talk show hosts and milbloggers.
I did emailed O'Reilly too
I sent them an "I think you suck" E-mail. I hope Rush, O'Reilly or Hannity pick up on this.
Is this some kind of joke? I know that some companies don't deliver to FPO/APO. It can be really frustration especially if you put in an order and then find out at the end that you can get your things. I wish they would put it at the top of the home page so we would not have to go through the hassle. Anyway, I just can't believe that a company would actually send an e-mail like that. That is amazing. Normally, if I inquire on this, the people are really nice and even apologetic. This company just seems insane.
This is still America, not the Middle East. I happen to live in an urban neighborhood where I have a lot of exposure to Sikhs, who resent being cast by "Americans" (the world's only non-race-based culture) as untrustworthy. As a result of my visceral prejudice, I decided to read up on that religion.
It's something they just live with, day to day, though, if there was such an animal as "social justice" (the term makes me wheeze), they wouldn't have to. They're as American as I am - I just wish more of them would realize that and act accordingly.
My default with those who look different from me is to assume they have the same goals as me, primarily, going home from work to spend quality personal time.
Good they should be. Just like I won't buy gas from companies that are owned by that creep Hugo Chavez or his country. I try very hard to use smaller stores owned by Americans as much as I can. I can't always but when possible I do.

The Sikh spirituality is entirely different from Islam. Like night and day.
In fact, "The Guru Granth Sahib", a very succinct and metaphysical quick summary of the religion, is a pleasant, relaxing read. It won't threaten your existing faith.
In the culture of the West, we have the freedom to wear, or not wear, our faith on our sleeves. In many other places, who you pray to can still, even after millenia, get you killed.
Cut him a break, if you can see it in yourself.
