Freepers can Meet at the March for Life, 2007

Posted on 01/20/2007 8:49:14 PM PST by Coleus

In years past, Freepers have met  up with friends at a little known monument on the ellipse. It is called the 2nd Division monument and it is between Constitution Ave and the Ellipse. This is what it looks like:

If you are standing at the rear of the Ellipse, facing the White House, with the Washington Monument to your rear, this small monument is to your left rear next on Constitution Ave.

You may want  to meet at 12:00 Noon  in front of this 2nd Division monument. (This is usually where the Connecticut and Massachusetts pro-life bus groups gather, but it is a quiet spot away from the crowd.)

Plus it is a good neutral ground for an ecumenical gathering of pro-life Freepers!

This is the place where Dr. Brian Kopp arraigned to have the freepers meet up. I met a few freepers there a few years ago: pyro7480, tolerance sucks rocks, angelwood, mudpuppy and kristinn. Those going this year may want to meet there and say hello to some freepers. Sometimes the freepers march together while others march with the groups from their church. Either way, you can meet there during the speeches and join your group when it's time to march.

I will be there with a group from the Archidiocese of NY, and I'll probably stick with them, so I don't know if I'll get to break away to the Monument...

Is there a thread (or could you start one) on which FReepers in today's March for Life in every state could report in? I'll be marching at the Minnesota State Capitol this noon. The weather forecast's looking pretty good for a January day: partly sunny, about 21 degrees.

About 6,000 people (and quite a few legislators) attended last year's Minnesota March for Life. I've been to a few in which the total exceeded 10,000.
