I'm in. And I'm in to win.
Today I am announcing that I will form an exploratory committee to run for president.
And I want you to join me not just for the campaign but for a conversation about the future of our country -- about the bold but practical changes we need to overcome six years of Bush administration failures.

I am going to take advantage of no "poker after dark" tonight and go to sleep early. See y'all tomorry.
I don't know anyone that deserves an early night more than you, onyx.
Sweet dreams!
Right. It's on tomorrow night. Star Trek (the old version, HD enhanced) is on at that hour.
You are so sweet, sleuthie, and you ought to see the horrid line-up for Monday's PAD: Sam Farha, Andy Bloch. Mike Matusow, Phil Hellmouth; TonyG, and fortunately Phil Ivey!
Ew! The "Bad Boys Of Poker".
I was a big fan of hers...long before I became a freeper. I didn't join until 2004...
When I found out she was a freeper...it just made it that much more sad for me that she died so young..and in such a horrible, horrible way.

"Barbara Olson kept her cool.In the hysteria and terror of hijackers herding passengers to the rear of the plane, she retrieved her cell phone and called her husband, Ted, the solicitor general of the United States.
She informed him that he had better call the FBI the plane had been hijacked. According to reports, Barbara was still on the phone with Ted when her plane plunged in a fiery explosion directly into the Pentagon.
Barbara risked having her neck slit to warn the country of a terrorist attack. She was a patriot to the very end.
This is not to engage in the media's typical hallucinatory overstatement about anyone who is the victim of a horrible tragedy. The furtive cell phone call was an act of incredible daring and panache.
If it were not, we'd be hearing reports of a hundred more cell phone calls. (Even people who swear to hate cell phones carry them for commercial air travel.)"
check this one out .... though be prepared to barf
and do note how she says that she spoke with and seeked the advice of people she trusted

Elizabeth was NOT "dangerous" to her own nation, England and not nearly as "dangerous" to Catholics, as her father had been. Nor would she have been any danger to them, if Catholics weren't plotting to usurp her throne.
You don't know who Emma Goldman was? You better go look her up and do some reading! LOL
Here's a hint....she was a quite rabid Socialist/Marxist, who went around this country preaching her cause and Alinsky learned quite a lot from her. No, really, he did! She went after the lower middle class; not just the "poor". She also "appealed" to the highbrow "intellectuals" of her day, from the upper middle class. IIRC, she was actually deported.
Bella Absug was TAME, compared to Emma Goldman, whom I'm sure was a heroine of hers. :-)
Very true about her bravery...and it must have torn she and Ted up...knowing what was getting ready to happen.
Barbara Olsen was a TRUE heroine, in every sense of that now much misused word.
Amen!
Well...well...well...where do we start pulling out and documenting the hypocrisy that IS Hillary, evidenced in that video, Mo1??
Thanks for posting that..I hadn't seen it.
I must say that I disagree with the Alinsky part of this. Ridicule is not "man's most potent weapon". I must get to work, I'll say more later.
But let me just say now that it is my opinion that it may be because of this type of belief that at least two of our most listened to talk show hosts, Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh, could have had more than a little to do with the Republicans losing elections the last time around.
Simply, constantly "ridiculing" the opponent or political "opposition" serves to energize them. It's the old "don't awaken a sleeping lion" thing.
More later, but suffice it to say, that if our talkshow hosts don't improve their personalities and self-righteous performances they will continue to contribute to the election losses. (jmo)
What book?
"The Way We Were - My Not So Secret Crush on Robert Redford" by Barbra Streisand?
lol
Thank you for the reminder of the courage Barbara displayed on that awful day. A patriot, and an American martyr.
And thank you for posting the picture of her. She was truly beautiful inside and out! :-)
I just loved her smile!
