The root cause of terrorism: Joseph Farah reveals simple reason jihadis continue their attacks
WorldNetDaily.com ^ | 1/20/07 | Joseph Farah

It's becoming popular to talk about "the root causes of terrorism."

Lately, we've heard:

Do you know what I think is the root cause of terrorism?

It works.

By that I mean those using terrorism in the world today do it because it achieves their objectives.

Simple. And I think beyond dispute.

No place does it work more effectively than in Israel – once seen as a bulwark against Islamist terrorism. If you want a case study in the enabling of terrorism, the encouraging of terrorism, the feeding and cultivation of terrorism, look no further than the Jewish state.

Let's look at the cost of unrelenting terrorism in the Jewish state over the last six years since Ariel Sharon was elected as a hard-line prime minister to put an end to attacks but who betrayed his constituency:

It's a vicious cycle. But it is a cycle benefiting the terrorists – demonstrating its effectiveness as a tactic.

What do the terrorists want besides killing and terrifying people?

Ultimately, it is very simple. They want the entire world subjugated to Islamic rule and law.

There are only two ways to stop the terrorism:

You can't talk to it. You can't buy it off. You can't understand it. You can't win it over with compassion. You can't reason with it. You can't negotiate with it. You can't bargain with it. You can't appease it away. You can't wish it away.

In fact, this is an enemy that cannot be seduced by expressions of "tolerance" and gestures of goodwill. It is actually repulsed by such moves – seeing them as weakness to be exploited further and signs that their strategy is winning the day.

Need I remind you this is a conflict with some history.

It didn't begin Sept. 11, 2001, or even with the first World Trade Center bombing or the Iranian revolution of 1979.

This is a war President Jefferson fought.

This is a war that led to Christopher Columbus' voyage west and, ultimately, the discovery of America.

This is a war that nearly led to the conquest of Europe before that.

And it may well lead to the conquest of Europe in the 21st century.

As I have said before, it would not be inaccurate to say this conflict has defined world history for the last 1,300 years.

In the 20th century, we witnessed the high cost of appeasement. We saw it with Nazi Germany. We saw it with the Soviet Union. We saw it with Communist China. And, lately, we see it in the Middle East and in the war with jihadism.

Communism went underground in the 50s and 60s and reimmerged in the 70s and 80s as the ACLU, NEA, The World Council of Churches, etc etc and it has invaded our schools.

No one wants to believe that there is a real conspiracy at hand, that all this is just a liberal malaise that has infected America....but, no, its organized and well funded.

But of course when I speak of this people tell me to put my tin foil hat on....so I go away and shut up.

The conservative movement is dying on the vine, an thus the heart and soul of America is slowly vanishing into the sunset.

Political Correctness isn't just a platitude, its a real, well thought out device that is working too well.

We are all too disorganized, too caught up in our own special interests to see the big picture.

According to an article in the journal of the US Army War College, The Quranic Concept of War , terrorism is an essential and integral part of Islam:
Malik’s most controversial dictum is summarized in the following manner: in war, “the point where the means and the end meet” is in terror. He formulates terror as an objective principal of war; once terror is achieved the enemy reaches his culminating point. “Terror is not a means of imposing decision upon the enemy; it is the decision we wish to impose . . . .” Malik’s divine principal of Islamic warfare may be restated as “strike terror; never feel terror.”
In other words, the objective of Jihad is to produce an environment where all are afraid to oppose Islam, and no Muslim is afraid to advance Islam.

Jihad is not just fighting. Jihad is using all means (including the infidel's legal system, media, and institutions) to advance Islam and intimidate all who might oppose Islam.

Filing "hate speech" charges is Jihad

Gaining control of Universities thru endowing "Middle Eastern Studies" chairs, and having Muslim students riot against anti-Islamic speakers is Jihad

Gaining control of media outlets by buying their stock is Jihad

We have terrorism because it works... but why does it work?

It works because to stop it you are actually going to have to do things that are inconvenient. You could get hurt or killed or screw up the economy.

Most people are reluctant to risking their asses and assets, unless it is an obvious last resort to protect themselves - Tom.

So why the h-ll are you peole here, not in the paradise of
one of your h-ll-hole Islamic Republics?

I don't know if O'Reilly asked that sort of follow-up.
But for me, that's the correct one for these b-tchin' Muslims
who've brought their malignant baggage to the civilized parts of
the planet.

I agree with what you say 100%. There is only one way back:

2 Chronicles 7:14 (New International Version)

If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

Excellent article.

The moral relativism of Islamic terrorism being seen as "evil is an abstract concept" as it is currently viewed by a vast majority of elitists western civilization will eventually lead us to subjugation

The US is simply the tiger that will be eaten last if we let them.

I think it actually worse than that. The elitist see the West as the evil. No a completely different vein, you should pick up a copy of Lawrence Wright's "The Looming Tower" to get an excellent insight into the growth and irrationality of radical Islam.

Columbus was looking for a route to India that didn't go through Arab land so that commerce and trade with the east might become profitable again. Arabs charged high rent and it happened with each tribe encountered. Only reason anybody is interested in Arab land now is oil because there are many routes around Arab land including air routes.

"The Looming Tower"

Already read it. Darn near spit nails at some parts.

The elitist see the West as the evil.

Mark Styens book "America Alone" makes an excellent read making that exact case.

Americas hope is in a spiritually awakening, which is long overdue. Spiritually clarity is what this country needs to take on Islamic radicalism and see what it really is. Born in the pits of hell.

I won't go so far to say that Islam will win, but they are going to do an awful lot of destruction if we don't wake up and take this bull by the horn and recognize it for what it is.

If the dems, ACLU's and the PC crowds continue to have more victories, America is going to become weaker and weaker while the Islamic terrorists become stronger. If this continues to happen then what I honestly believe is going to have to happen before we can finally fight terrorism, without any PC rules, or rules of engagement, we're going to have to kill the enemy within.

This means we are going to have to have a civil war right here in America. The people (like us) who understand what is really going on in this world, and what it is going to take to conquer this evil cancer, are going to have to kill those who are destroying our nation within. The terrorists are counting on America to be divided and continue to make it easier and easier for them to take over America, and eventually dominate the world.

What the terrorists don't expect is that good people like us would rise up and take arms against the liberal media (NYT would be first in line), politicians, Hollywood elites, judges and ACLU type organizations, and anyone else who is making it easy for the terrorist to destroy us.

I realize this is controversial, but if our country continues to be led by the kind of people who are leading it now, and I suspect it will get worse in 2008, then this is what it may have to come to. The only other alternative is--we surrender. I worry that this may be want it comes to, unless good people like us do something before it's too late.
