PRESCOTT, Ariz. (AP) -- Yavapai Sheriff's detectives arrested four men on theft, fraud and other charges after one of them allegedly tried to enroll a 29-year-old convicted sex offender in a Chino Valley school.
Sheriff's office spokeswoman Susan Quayle says school officials called police when 61-year old Lonnie Stiffler used fake documents to try to enroll his 12-year-old grandson.
Detectives learned the grandson was, in fact, 29-year-old Neil Rodreick, a convicted sex offender from Oklahoma.
Quayle says neither Stiffler nor his roommate, 43-year old Robert Snow, knew that Rodreick was an adult.
Authorities say the two men met Rodreick two years ago online and had been involved in a sexual relationship with him.
A fourth suspect is identified as 34-year old Brian Nellis.
4 lengths of rope are called for.
Predators after our children. UGH!
Not the most coherent story I've ever read.
Rodreick pretending to be 12? I know kids are maturing earlier and earlier but Rodreick couldn't possibly pass for twelve.
Fortunately, most criminals are dumb as a post. You just can't make this shit up. Get the rope. Darwin award.
Right. What an incomplete story. I'd like to know more about the fourth than, "A fourth suspect is identified as 34-year old Brian Nellis."
