Well, well. Some climate expert on The Weather Channel wants to take away AMS certification from those of us who believe the recent global warming is a natural process. So much for tolerance, huh?
I have been in operational meteorology since 1978, and I know dozens and dozens of broadcast meteorologists all over the country. Our big job: look at a large volume of raw data and come up with a public weather forecast for the next seven days. I do not know of a single TV meteorologist who buys into the man-made global warming hype. I know there must be a few out there, but I cant find them. Here are the basic facts you need to know:
*Billions of dollars of grant money is flowing into the pockets of those on the man-made global warming bandwagon. No man-made global warming, the money dries up.

The "fear tax" is what liberals are all about now. Taxing carbon emissions, a man's carbon foot print, miles driven etc. Even the privelege of owning a car will be taxed soon enough.
Any way to create new tax revenues is the name of the game for the liberals. Fear taxes are the way to grab control of yet another phoney baloney quasi government funded scam on the dumb public.

JAMES SPANN ROCKS! I used to work with him in television years ago. He is the best weatherman in America. He's a legend in the Birmingham market. I can tell you firsthand that he is a good man with a strong work ethic and he is a patriot. But he's not political. Spann is an authority on weather science and I hope this story gets picked up on Fox. Forget the rest of the MSM. They will try to roast him.
Great post!

We don't watch the weather channel except occasionally during an active hurricane. Since switching to DirectTV, local on the 8s is anything but local.
The only good I've seen from the weather channel are some great gloves I got Hubby for Christmas that are the same ones they use.

I don't recall where, but I read that the ice caps are shrinking --- on Mars. I might buy into the concept of "solar warming," but global warming is just another malignantly liberal lie pandering to the the illiterate, the narrow minded politically biased, thieves, fools and democrats.

but this person at the Weather Channel must want us to have a Reichs Academy of Meteorology. Sounds better in German, Reichs-Akademie für Meteorologie.

My understanding, my mom told me years ago, that James is a religious man. So, I doubt he is worried about what the pukes say or think of him. He has been around a very long time. And everyone thinks very highly of him around here.

I no longer watch the Weather Channel. They have very little weather in it any more, any way. Now in the evenings, it is a clone of Cullen, "Abrams & Bettis". (WTH?)
I used to like being able to track storms coming in in the evenings by their radar maps, etc... Now, they have nothing but pointless, boring, "Storm Stories" (WTH?) or other useless garbage that is a total waste of time. Their Weekend programming is now like having the Oprah show do the weather.
In closing this Rant, I say; BOYCOTT! BOYCOTT! BOYCOTT! You're not missing anything, anyway.

While I do not fall for this global warming crap, I have been seeing many posts and hearing many people talk about that since it snowed in Malibu and all of the cold temperatures seen over the past few weeks that this can't be global warming.
Global warming does not mean that a particular region will or should experience 'warming' because of global 'warming'. Global warming really means that regions around the world will experience extremes in the weather, such as drought, severe and stronger storms due to more moisture that is available for evaporation, etc.
So, snow in Malibu is rare and some people may say "see...it never snows in Malibu, so it must be global warming..."
It's called global climate change and they (scientists) do not have enough data to say definitively that this caused by man.
Just my 2 cents.

"Dr. Heidi Cullen: Meathead."
My husband, also a meathead. He insists that Bush/Cheney and their "friends" in the big oil companies are personally responsible for "global warmning". My husband also worships at the church of the Weather Channel. Why am I not suprised at by his views?

Global Warming is as truthfully connected with climate change as Peak Oil is truthfully connected with the supply and price of liquid petroleum fuel. Both are, sadly, ideological world views that are socialist in origin and desired effect.
It is simple to prove my assertion. Global Warming advocates never want to discuss what the previous climate extremes mean for today's statements of climate certainty. They are silent about the climate when Erik the Red settled Greenland with farmers and ranchers, or just a few centuries later when the climate grew so cold that 1850 was known in Europe and New England as the Year Without a Summer.
Similarly, advocates of Peak Oil don't want to discuss how easily higher prices spur changes in behavior, innovation and substitution. The mere fact that they are silent about the United States having more hydrocarbons in the form of coal than the Saudis have in the form of crude oil, helps us connect the dots to an agenda that has little to do with energy and far more with command and control of governments and citizens.

I thought it was caused by starving polar bears. No, it's caused by increasing flatulence due to health advocates pushing a high-fiber diet. This diet thing started in the 70s (Dr. David Reuben wrote the "Save Your Life Diet" book in 1976) and the increased methane emissions have warmed the planet. Right?

Brit had a clip on Special Report last night. This woman also said something about those who denied global warming also believeing hurricanes going clock-wise. Brit pointed out that hurricanes DO go clock-wise in the Southern Hemisphere - where they are called cyclones.

The Weather Channel will be turned off in my house as of tonight. I've liked their programming less and less, and this is the final straw. I'm also looking around on the TWC site for an EMail address so that they know this. Anyone have any good contact info?
Weather forecasting is a science, not an opinion. Any 'service' that can't present scientifically based facts can't be accurate, IMHO.
