Dude, we're still a free people and it's okay to debate what our government's policy should be.

What is the line between debate, defeatism, and providing aid and comfort to the enemy through under the cover of "debate"?

That's very true - but now we are debating our nation's very survival - not just a "government policy" like taxes or Social Security.

How much "debating" about fighting the Nazi's was going on in 1943?

I would be willing to bet not much.

With the Democrats in control, FREEDOM is rapidly FLEETING!

So, pull you head out of what ever orifice you currently have it, and support this critical point in our history, or else go join the other side. (You may already have.)

For God's sake, refrain from addressing anyone as "dude". Additionally, we do have the right to debate. However, the effect of some views in that debate may be extremely unhelpful to those viewing the debate.

Elpasser, I am a swiftboat vet. If you think the lefties will leave you alone and allow you to debate freely then you are wrong. The Swiftboat Veterans and POWs for Truth recently got hit with a $299K fine by the FEC for exercising their constitutionally guaranteed freedom of speech rights in the 2004 election.
The liberal creep democrats won't be happy until they stifel every opposing voice.

True, but I need to point out that this is exactly what the libs say.

I'm sure you'd acknowledge that loud cries against the war make the terrorists feel that they just have to hold out a little longer and we'll turn tail and run. If that isn't giving aid and comfort to the enemy, I don't know what is.

If the American people allow the libs to pull us out of Iraq before we are through, then the American people deserve the onslaught of terrorist attacks that will likely come. They deserve to lose any hope of stopping Iran and every other radical Islamic state from developing WMD.

Sad part is, it won't just be the ones who wanted to pull out that will suffer for it.

''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''

Is it OK for senators to go to the enemy and have conversations with them without the blessings of the commander in chief? Is it OK for the opposition to have public votes refuting the policies, decisions, and military commands of the Commander in Chief? Is it OK to poll citizens ad nausea about their opinions on war decisions and publish them on enemy media? Is it OK to publish military tactics, and troop movements to the citizens even though the enemy will also receive this information? The time for the endless second guessing of the commander in Chief is over. This is his ballgame. He has constitutional power to make the military decisions necessary to wage this war. Its up to the citizenry to ask "how can we help?" Not give military advice based on erroneous, irrelevant information from people who know absolutely nothing about waging war.
