Devlin also is under investigation in the 1991 disappearance of another Missouri boy who still has not been found, The Associated Press has learned.
Michael Devlin is the "most viable lead" in the case of Charles Arlin Henderson, who was 11 when he disappeared in 1991 and has never been found, Lincoln County sheriff's deputies said.
...
Investigators began re-examining the 1991 case after Devlin's arrest. Detective Chris Bartlett said a witness saw a man snapping photos of Arlin before the Moscow Mills boy vanished.
Arlin's uncle, James McWilliams, said the boy came home from school a few months before he disappeared and told his mother a "tall, thin man" had been taking pictures of him.
Asked whether the man's description fit that of Devlin, who stands about 6-foot-4 and weighs around 300 pounds, Bartlett said: "It matched the description enough that we have to pursue him as the most viable lead."
"We've got other indications that cause us to be concerned with this," he added.

Devlin creeps me out!
It could be that Shawn's days were numbered ... Ben may have been his replacement.
Prayers for Shawn. He's going to need all our prayers for a very long time.
Agreed. The horror he's been through is unspeakable.
Devlin may well have killed Arlin Henderson. So many similarities...boy on a bike, close in age and weight, disappeared not far from Kirkwood.
The police have fingerprints from the Henderson case. They were on the bike. If they match Devlin's...case solved.
He's showing his courage now that his loving parents are beside him.
I'd cut him a lot of slack right now.
A part of him is dead and there will be no getting that back. He's filling himself with good things now. Positive attention and loving parents who are happy to have him home.
The younger boy was definitely going to be the replacement for the older one. I have wondered if perhaps when the older one (Shawn) was captured by Devlin, he was the "replacement" for another boy. Perhaps Shawn met that boy, at least briefly, before Devlin killed him, and when Shawn saw the "new" younger boy being brought in, he realized what was about to happen. Possibly this was what motivated him to escape.
It's possible that Devlin has left many victims in his wake.
I certainly hope not, but it's possible.

WOW!
That's something to watch if they match. Tough to explain how HIS prints got on the boys bike.

I've been wondering about that ... but it didn't look like Shawn made any effort to escape. Maybe that motivated Shawn to NOT escape - if he met the younger boy, Arlin.
Yes, I saw this:
"Investigators have Henderson's bicycle as evidence and hope to identify a set of fingerprints discovered on the frame. It is not known if the prints belong to participants involved in the crime. Searches will continue for Henderson's remains as events warrant."
This is regarding the missing boy Charles Arlin Henderson, abducted in 1991. The child was 11 years old at the time.
Makes me wonder if Devlin was thinner in 1991. If he did something with Arlin, perhaps he started eating then to stuff his guilt - developing diabetes by 2002.
It would be interesting to know the relationship that was developing between Shawn and Ben. Let's not forget the Steven Stayner case. He'd been kidnapped at age 7 and at age 14 rescued his five year old replacement, Timmy White, by hoofing him 20 miles to the Ukiah, CA police department in the middle of the night. He stated then that he didn't want the younger boy to suffer the treatment he had received.
Remember that this is a child's perspective also. If he were wearing clothing that seemed loose on him and also keeping at a distance he may well have appeared thin to a 9 year old.
Ugh. But it certainly makes you wonder.
This will be interesting.
I can't get it out of my mind that Ben was probably Shawn's replacement.
"How interesting Devlin found part time work at a graveyard at night. Will we be seeing exhumed graves next?"
Make you wonder if the other little boy is burried there ... somewhere.
I don't think these people have a conscience.
I believe that died.
He's going to need that for the rest of his life, may it be long but he's also going to need that with the love of Christ as his Companion during his walk.
