Hunter needs to take a page out of Howard Dean's book, namely, organising the internet grassroots. No one took Dean seriously until he had built up momentum through his website and getting donations online. Of course, Dean wasted it all by being an utter psycho, but that's a different matter.

Hunter should get his website out the door now, if he is going to stand a chance.

Heartily agree with that. Currently his PAC site (see tagline) is serving as his campaign site.

That is one aspect of management that will prove crucial to his success.

Hunter also needs to learn the lesson from Obama - Obama is right about one thing, Americans appear to be tired of rancor and bitterness between parties. Hunter can make headway by saying that he will state clear principles without bitterness, and will always seek to discuss the issues in a respectful tone, and work with others whenever possible.

Perot was not a household name when he first started, though granted he did have a dollar or two to rub together.

That is definitely a worry for me. The financial aspect of running for President. If it is true that a candidate needs 100 million to run for President, why is he only asking for 250 for a plate. Unless he is financially set personally (I don't know), he is going to have to raise a heck of a lot of money. Plus, I wish he would scream all his prior sins that he did NOW so they are out of the way and his opponents on BOTH sides won't go digging in his past. Personally, I hope he is totally clean and has no skeletons out there, but as we know from experience that is not true with most people. If I were him, I would get up and get in front of a microphone and say "yes I have cursed many times in my life, I bounced a check when I was young, I smoked at least pack of cigarettes in my lifetime, I drink beer every weekend, I have been late for meetings, I have NEVER smoked weed, snorted coke, taken heroin or any other illegal drug...etc. (all true by the way. lol). That way the media would focus on that for a few days and then he would never have to deal with it again.

No! All the money donated to the peacethroughstrength PAC is NOT allowed to be used by his campaign. His campaign site is now up at http://www.gohunter08.com THAT is where you want to make donations for his campaign because that is what he will be using as he runs for the GOP nominee. DO NOT donate to the PAC if you want the money to go for Hunter's presidential campaign.

THANKS!!! fyi, your post told me essentially 100% more than i ACTUALLY KNEW about Hunter.

on this coast, he is NOT well-known. name RECOGNITION is VERY important. (i'd bet not more than 1% of people in this state could tell you ANYTHING about Hunter and/or have EVEN heard of him.)

TT is STRONG on marriage/family issues, 2d Amendment & is strongly PRO-life.

that much i KNOW. for the rest, you'll have to ask someone else.

FYI, TT is also a supporter of the FREEDOM to FLY the CSA flag. (Tom has "no dog in" the CSA flag fight, as he is a 3d generation Italian-American. NOBODY in his family was HERE during the "late unpleasantness". believe it or not, a recent survey found that LESS than 25% of Americans families were IN the USA in 1861-65.)

i wouldn't vote for POTUS, if RUDY was facing ANY DIMocRAT in the '08 general election. the SAME is true of any other candidate, who is a LEFTIE, DY.

Rudy CANNOT (imVho) carry ANY dixie state.

"Can we also have a "Pray McCain Isn't the Nominee in 2008""

I tell you this, there will NEVER be a "McCain for President" yard sign in my yard.

I like the concept of the boxes except that they tend to oversimplify the issues and positions. And I don't know that anything can be done about that.

Take for example your box on "homosexual marriage". Giuliani has never, to my knowledge, come out in favor of that. He has said civil unions are okay, as has Dick Cheney, but that doesn't mean Cheney is in favor of gay marriage. He isn't.

You'd either need tons of more boxes to adequately describe each candidate's position or recognize that you're going to mischaracterize to some degree each candidate's position on the issue.

Yes, "real-state" is an issue

Well, the boxes, should be a "quick" overview, a score card if you will. Ideally for each "box" there should be a corresponding place where... to expand the issue.

on the "marriages," maybe we should have 2 "subcategories" "supports homosexual marriage?"

"supports "homosexual civil-unions"

Because there MUST be a difference between the two.. AND WE should get into the differences in detail in order to understand this.

Now of course, if we had a "website" we could LINK things left and right, but in this medium... very limited!
