Since the 100 hour promise has for some reason fallen by the wayside (meaning scant media attention), I thought I'd post an update.
According to her website, the dems have used a touch UNDER 28 hours of their "first 100 hours in power" on legislative issues they promised would get done.
Now, to most rational people, the first 100 hours means 100/8 = 12.5 workdays to get these promised things accomplished, yet they're far from that. It's important to understand that when Pelosi PROMISED massive legislative undertakings in the FIRST 100 hours, she neglected to mention that the time would come off the clock ONLY when they were working on her 6 agenda items, not other business..those items are:
1) Enact 9/11 commission recommendations - done according to her
2) Raise minimum wage - Done
3) Expand stem cell research - Done
4) Negotiate for lower prescription drug prices - Done
5) Cut interest rates on student loans - In process
6) End subsidies for big oil and invest (meaning spend) in renewable energy - In process
so, even though they've been in session since January 4, here it is, 13 days later and they've only used 28 hours, leaving them with 72 to finish 2 items according to her website..at this rate, 100 hours could last all year and she'd STILL claim they got it done..
TOPICS: News/Current Events

My calculations (when the house is in SESSION) have it at about 40 hours to go. Though you know 'Rats never let the facts get in the way of your agenda.

Pelosi led her constituents to believe the promised accomplishments would occur in the first 100 hrs in power, yet counted the hours differently for political reasons. Behavior like that should lead to disgust within her constituency, but since nothing the left does ever disgusts the left, that won't happen.

The STUPID American voter made it all possible -- now we have to live with it for two years. The liberal "reality" --- a sham of the highest order.

Any football games that they need to watch and not work. Never mind the fact the game was after work hours. What the hell is going to happen come March Madness?

We could only hope that it would have about the same prognosis of having spent 100 hours in labor.

They were inauguarated on the 4th.
So they spent 8 working days or 64 hours so far on legislation. Of course this providing they work the 5 day week that they promised(lied) and taking MLK into account.

Nothing has been done except symbolism. I wouldn't consider it an accomplishment if they get some votes for bills or whatever that don't get past the House. Remember that the Senate is much more precarious in terms of Dim majorities with Sen. Johnson (D) out of commission for at least 3-4 months but probably much longer. Lieberman will side with the President on the war in Iraq. That doesn't leave enough Dims to vote for anything that will get a super majority to make it veto-proof unless it is truly bipartisan.
See if anything actually gets signed by the President in the first 100 days. That is what we should be looking at and talking about. At the end of March the Republicans should do a report card on the first 100 hours. I'm very sure it will be a complete and utter failure based on what Pelosi wanted done immediately after the election.
