It got better for a while around here,
now it's back to the old Knuckledragger crap again.
Like wow! This is REALLY gonna recruit all those on the fence, usually voting Dem females.
Not!
She was simply doing what men do...
having arm candy.
Again, if this article were about a 39 year old male with a 21 year old...there'd be nothing but "Atta Boys" and "I'd hit its" all over the thread.
Wasn't that Deniro?
Only one was killed off; Wash, Zoe's husband, played by Alan Tudyk. At the end, River was learning to pilot the ship.
I think you're forgetting Shepherd Book (Ron Glass' character) was also killed off
Serenity was a great flick. Too bad TPTB couldn't see the potential in the series, or the continuation of movies.
I agree it was a great flick, but there were flaws. It was ineptly promoted to the non-Browncoat audience by the studio. (see my post #75) Also, the above mentioned "killing off" of several major characters was excessive. One would have been more than sufficient.
Joss is really a great writer.
Agreed, but even great writers get bogged down in a rut, and keep using the same tricks over and over again to the point when they're no longer "edgy" or "innovative", but just plain predictable and boring.
Whedon's celebrated propensity for killing off major characters falls in this category, as does R.D. Moore's silly and boring overuse of the term "frack" in Battlestar Galactica, or the predictably boring "edginess" of making Starbuck and Admiral Caine female. Going back even further, during the run of Star Trek: The Next Generation it began to look doubtful if Starfleet would have any male admirals left after a while.
Now, As for Ronnie Moore and GINO, don't get me started.
We think alike...I've noticed that on alot of threads! :)
Understood. I watch it mainly out of a stubborn sense of curiosity. I've invested too much time in it to walk away, and I'm just determined to see how the whole mess works out. /grin
As for the cast of Firefly, maybe at least I'll get to see Inara (Morena Baccarin) wipe out the entire SG-1 team in the Stargate SG-1 finale...
Shepherd Book was also killed off, along with Mr. Universe (who never appeared in the series), and anybody else who had given the crew shelter or support. Book was a VERY interesting character that obviously had some backstory we never got the opportunity to learn.
"What in god's name does a 21 year old have to offer a women her age?"
Stamina.

I cannot UNDERSTAND why some of these guys can't find themselves a good woman!
