Former Oklahoma Gov. Frank Keating (R) said today that "he's done flirting with the idea of running for president," the Oklahoman reports.
Said Keating: "It's just not the right thing for me to do at this time."
He also said "he would still like to go back to public life at some point. He said if Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-OK) decides against running for re-election in 2008, he would consider running for the seat, but he said he expects Inhofe to run."
Well then how about J.C. Watts then?
He has my vote!
I will be holding a press conference today to announce I am not running for President, at this time.
I wonder if he'd consider being veep?
Not surprised Keating is not running and it would not surprise me if he did run if Sen Inhofe steps down. Heard that Brad Carson, the nasty Dem who lied in 2004 against Dr. Coburn is getting money for another run. He is a Clintonite who I guess didn't learn his lesson the first time.
Carson pretended to be conservative but people finally woke up he was lying!
Retired General Tommy Franks has moved back to OK and some expect him to run for something here in the coming years and a very good friend of my Congressman Tom Cole.
Brad Henry has already announced he will not run for Senate and will finish out his term!
Two years is a long time to keep that promise, especially when he has a better shot angainst Inhofe than Coburn.
