So is the bias in this article that if there are that many more women are not marrying or remarrying, unless the balance in numbers between the sexes is changing, that many more men are also choosing not to marry or remarry. The focus of this article dwelled on women. What about the man's point of view. Could it be that there are fewer women marrying because fewer men are asking them?

Of course, the article neglects the obvious reason this is the case, and it is NOT that single mothers have recently skyrocketed: people are living longer, and women living longer than men. There is no question there are more moms squirting out bastards, but the real rise in this number ain't Murphy Browns--it's Great-Gramma Brown, who continues to hang on to life thanks to modern medicine.

Marriage is about children. Fewer children means fewer marriages, and even one or two is fairly easy to support by a single mother. Fact is, there is no shortage of people and marriage is not vital in the system we have created.
