Nice try. Tom Tancredo is his own man and doesn't kowtow to those whom he has a difference of opinion. If by some slim chance he is someone not inclined to protect the lives of our most innocent he's not alone. Both Bush's, Clinton, and the vast majority in Congress do not wish to protect our unborn either. In my mind this is appalling and while Hunter is a pro-lifer I do not believe any other candidate will defend the values that has made this nation (and her boarders) the strongest and greatest nation in centuries better than Tom Tancredo.

Besides... aside from a small group of Tancredo supporter's views no one has yet proven that Tom is pro-death. Show his voting record. NOT some rag hell bent on slinging mud. As far as I am concerned the only reason so much mud is already flying his direction is because Tom Tancredo is a serious threat to the rest of the Republican field.

As I've stated before. As it stands right now if he runs he will be getting my vote.

PS If our borders are not secured it won't matter who our president is.

JMHO

DOes that "common sense approach" include calling Miami a 3rd-world country, pissing off a critical republican state?

Common sense isn't a word I usually associate with Tancredo.

The first time I've watched the morning show in ages. It was going along really well until Tancredo showed up.

To me he generates the cringe factor and I had to change the channel.

Tom Tancredo= The new Pat Buchanan.

The Brigadiers will have a new Paul Revere to ride to.

I am far from a one issue voter but I can't find another republican who supports more than one of my core values. Surely not Guilanni or McCain. Newt loses on many fronts including NAFTA. Even Romney is scarey and unacceptable. Tancredo is at least smart enough to understand there are about five "core issues" he needs to get on the right side of..None of the others dare go there. One issue voters?...nuts.

Maybe have more conservative tendancies but there are many loyal Repulicans who are not ultra conservative.

In my country though we call my party The Conservative Party there are many different shades in the party and in some ways the party is richer for the diversity.

Some areas need more Conservative candidates others need more middle of the road. Apart from one person who never seems to support the Republican stance on anything Hagel I have not seen anyone who is suggesting running being anything other than a Republican.

RINO means Republican in name only CINO

I know it's a very popular sentiment among some here, but his suggestion to bomb Mecca pretty much disqualifies him as a serious contender in my opinion.

Would it help end the culture clash if Iran sent missiles crashing into the Vatican?

It refers to his approach to the issues. You can pick apart any R candidate in the race but when the crop is in what counts is what are their positions on the major issues.

Yeah, I saw that. What struck me is that Newt dissed the base, then brought up Reagan, saying he appealed to a wide range of people. Reagan did appeal to wide range of people by being steadfastly ...conservative. Newt's part of the problem these days, IMO.

"First aligning himself with Patsy and Bay Buchanan...and now the pro-abort gang."

Social Issues
As a devout Christian, father, and grandfather, I am a strong believer in the rights to life for the unborn child. I also believe that marriage is between a man and a woman. For years, activist judges have undermined both life and marriage. As president I would stop this by appointing strict constructionists as judges, reining in the power of the judiciary, and supporting constitutional amendments that respect marriage and life.

It should be amusing watching the liberal/moderate freepers slam Tancredo on this and then turn around and praise pro-abortion Guiliani in the next breath.

Chance or not he has my vote...Not another quality candidate in the race. Not one.

Have you looked into Duncan Hunter?

democrats are too dangerous to be in the Oval Office.

This will be an interesting primary season on both sides of the political spectrum.... Neither Party has an heir apparent and both will field a large contingent of wannabes in the beginning. You'll see the radicals from both fringes making a lot of noise and some will stay around till the last moment....

It's interesting that the Buchanan's are in the mix again. I'll have to give it to Bay in that she has a huge direct mail list in which to churn dollars with.

Newt had it correct imo that they public will not select a candidate on either end of the political spectrum but rather they want someone that appeals to the broad range. Given the message of the Buchanan's in the past, Tancredo's ability to create dissension, Paul's anti anything votes and Keyes, Corsi, Gilchrist, Baldwin mention of possible being the CP nominee it will definitely be a fun 18 months here on FR and in the political arena...

In the long run most of them will be inconsequential and the GOP nominee will come from someone more moderate and more appealing across the spectrum of ideas...

Pretty much every Rudy supporter here on FR is a one-issue voter when it comes to the War on Terror. I'd love to have a nickel for every time I've been told, "if we're not strong on the War on Terror, no other domestic issues even matter."

Tancredo should just run for Allard's open Senate seat. We could use someone like him in the Senate. He doesn't stand a chance running for President and if he runs 3rd party I will never support him.

At one point I thought Tancredo had said he'd only run if there were no other acceptable anti-illegal-immigrant candidates running.

If so, I guess he's decided Duncan isn't acceptable.
