LOL! Seeeeeee? I tol' ya I'm not a football fan (nor baseball obviously!) Just give me basketball!

I did get the 'quote' off a football quote thingie though. LOL! Guess I can't even fake it!

LOL!

Basketball, let's see, Rockets or Spurs, or some other team? Not much for B-ball myself anymore, but will watch the playoffs.

I didn't answer your question about which team I thought would win. I thought the Chargers would, but now I'm thinking maybe the Colts could go all the way. Last two games I saw, I thought their offense and defense played pretty well.

I confess, I'd like Peyton to get a ring, I think he's a great quarterback.

You know, call me weird or something I guess, but it's never been important to me that a 'home' team win. Last year I did want the Dallas Mavericks to win though. I used to want Utah Jazz to win so badly! And it didn't matter who was in the finals, if one was Phil Jackson's team (Chicago Bulls OR LA Lakers), I was pulling for the other team! Jackson won too many - he's good though. I'm just usually cheering for the underdog.

Good luck to the Colts - have heard Peyton Manning's name a lot!

Am tired tonight and going to get some sleep - will be back in the morning. Thanks - enjoyed talking with you - maybe more tomorrow. :)

Well, doggone it, my team lost Sunday. The Chargers are out of it, so, I am too. I don't particularly care who plays in the Super Bowl or who wins. I think I'll just go shopping. :-)

But I think it was very considerate of you, Billie, to create a "guy" thread for our guys, and very nicely done too!

GRRRRRRRReat thread, MIss Billie ... and I love the way you framed it.

I watched the Patriots beat our hometown team yesterday, sitting in the living room of my buddy's house. He's a Boston boy and so was in great anxiety the whole time, and greatly relieved and happy when it was over.

Football is the game of games, but I'm not so much a fan as I used to be.

Ever since 9/11, sports just don't do it for me.

The only contest I really care about these days is the one between Freedom and Terror ... Dubya's our quarterback, and our coach ... he's the one I'm rootin' fer ... )

Still, hanging out with friends and watching a good game makes for a fine day ... kinda like dropping in here at the Finest.

Life can be very good.

Look It Up

READ: Genesis 39:1-12

How then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God? —Genesis 39:9 Some online dictionaries report each year on what words were looked up the most on their site. For 2005, some of the most popular words were refugee, pandemic, tsunami, and levee. Because of worldwide catastrophic events that year, we can readily understand why those words were checked.

The most popular lookup for the Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary that year was the word integrity. The definition given is: “firm adherence to a code of especially moral or artistic values.” It’s used to describe those who are unwilling to be bribed or morally corrupted. Why was that word on the top of the list? Could it be because integrity is so lacking that many don’t know what it looks like in someone’s life?

In His Word, God gave us an example of integrity in the life of Joseph. Potiphar had put him in charge of overseeing “his house and all that he had” (Gen. 39:5). When he was propositioned by his master’s wife, Joseph refused, saying, “How then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?” (v.9). He knew what God’s standards were, and he chose to stand for the right—at the cost of his freedom.

Integrity—look it up in Genesis 39. Then live it out in God’s strength.

For Further Thought
In what ways have I been a person of integrity when it was tough?
When have I failed? Whose standards do I live by?
What do I need to change?

No legacy is as rich as integrity.

wonderful thread billie.. love the pledge & the ping.

your great sense of humor glows thru the post.

I will watch the super-bowl (I always do) even though the Browns are NOT part of it (shock, shock,...they are NEVER part of it)

I know as many women as men who truly love & follow football. I am one of them. I love college ball & also follow a few high school teams locally.

I recall my first Browns games in Cleveland decades ago with my dad in the OLD stadium. really got caught up in spirit before I learned any technical parts of the game. But first memories are of being cold. VERY cold. Winter in Ohio, ON LAKE, in cold, drafty stadium was in negative wind chill numbers.

well, we have a "healthy coating" of snow & it is still falling. we are "due". Had such a mild winter thus far so that there was NOTHING to complain about. Still isn't. This is just a tease.

Grrreat job on the thread, Billie. I'm a diehard baseball fan, but watch the occasional football game, will probably take a look at Super Bowl.

Believe it or not, we STILL do not have a home team in Los Angeles. The days of the Rams are long over and the Raiders always belonged in Oakland.

Thanks for doing this thread for the guys!!

Pssst! It doesn't really matter to me who plays either, but at least I learned who's in and who's out so far! Shopping sounds like a whole lot more fun. :)
