The press beat Bush down (under the wimpy Powell, who had NO understanding of Latin America) after the failed attempt in VZ to overthrow Chavez. He's never dared to go back to LatAm, and things are totally out of control down there.

Concentrating too much on welcoming the people to America and figuring out how to give them quick citizenship and benefits ... screw relations with the countries themselves.

I really can't believe I just typed that!

what can they do - in the USA, near 50% of the people want socialism. how can you expect the US to stop it in south and central america?
