KIRKWOOD, Mo. (AP) - While his alleged kidnapper was away at work, teenager Shawn Hornbeck apparently had access to a computer, and may have put photos of himself online and posted a chilling message on a site created by his own desperate parents: "How long are you planning to look for your son?"

A series of Web postings under the name "Shawn Devlin" - Devlin is the last name of the man suspected of kidnapping Shawn and posing as his father - came to light after Shawn's rescue from an apartment in Kirkwood last week.

Thomas has denied speculation the girl could be pregnant: "Unequivocally, she is not pregnant and was never pregnant."

Now if you expect to do well on discussion forums, I suggest you learn some thinking skills as well as some internet skills, because you are ignorant and unduly biased by your own emotions, perceptions and feelings. They are nice to have, but facts are more useful.

Any cursory research would have quickly revealed both the tin foil conspiracy theories of the internet gossips and the rapid and rational debunking of them by more reasonable people.

There is simply not time for a defendant to run out and "disprove" a claim or to search for that needle in a haystack.

Bravo Sierra, this is an internet forum. An additional browser window and a search engine are 1 click away. Anyone with a modest IQ and not completely in the grip of their own emotionally laden perceptions/beliefs can quickly check the probability/improbability factor of anyone's claims regarding most if not all historical events. Particularly those involving recent media created celebrity crime stories.

That would be why I kept my claims to the area 'as how I see it'. I have said clearly i isno something I could prove.

I have said I have not seen anything to explain what I perceive to be the case. I was being very careful to keep it honest and open, that it was how I see it, as opposed to saying how it is and claiming I was presenting facts. I did no such thing as to present this perception as fact.

I have taken an open position asking that if this information is available, I would love to see it. That is met with what is seen here.

However, it was presented as fact that this information is so easily found, so needle in a haystack doesn't really appply if that statement is true. Also it puts the ball in the court of the person that claimed fact rather than perception.

It was said that this information COULD be produced so there is no valid reason not to do so. If not out of common courtesy, out of desire to end debate it could easily be done right? Were I shown information I have not seen, my position of perception could easily change. That is why I asked for it. New information leads to new perceptions.

But instead, I am just labaled a troll and told to go. I am threatened with mods blah blah blah. I'm tryin to keep it real while some others play games. Who really is the troll here anyway?

I would suspect that everyone one of you know someone who is being mentally and verbally abused and you wouldn't know it. There are methods of manipulating the way people think that we do inherently as human beings. There are many many marriages, parent/child, office, etc relationships out there that are patterned on abuser/abusee relationships. The problem is that such control is so insidious that it's often difficult to understand that it's happening. Particularly due to our magnificent ability to adapt.

I worked in an office on a contract basis where the manager regularly demeaned the employees. It was done in such a way that it was hard to identify but when you know what to look for it's quite apparent. The way in which this manager communicated effectively controlled these individuals - it gave her power and made things productive but I watched as these people regularly struggled emotionally to cope with the environment.

My point is that people, more often than you realize, submit to abusive behavior thinking they have no choice and they do so for years on end at all age levels. We should not be surprised at Devin's behavior. He was clearly being abused and survived.

A typo would be 'yoir', yout, etc..

Well, I'm not in the habit of calling anyone an idiot, but I do have to question the logical skills of someone who would suggest that a boy would prefer (presumably) a childhood of sexual abuse with an abductor over that pesky matter of parental control at home. What extraordinary luck for Devlin that he managed to abduct a kid who was just itching to get away from his mom at the ripe old age of 11! I suppose he was just helping to liberate Ownby as well!

How interesting quoting CBS on FReerepublic. Anyway, I thank you for that aspect, I will take that part of it for what it is worth. But it is incomplete in my view. 'Thomas said' might be good enough for you, but barring further explanation it isn't enough for me.

As example, will the family spokesman for the Duke accuser say things that reflect positively on her? Of course they would. If they wanted to bury it, they would say just that huh?

It does not offer explanation for the weight gain and changes in her appearance. It also is not a question asked of and answered by Elizabeth herself. So, in effect, you have exposed that it is you who needs to dig some more, maybe a little deeper that top lines on google would help.

I watched it all play out, after she was gone until after she was home. All along something didn't sit quite right. Many things about it don't seem quite right, especially now with the advent that this man will not even stand trial, singing in court is a tactic not a reason not to try him. Why not try him? Something he might say maybe? This would be anothr example, to me, that things just do not fit. BTW, that didn't come from a google, it came from watching it all play out as it happened.....and is happening now.

Funny thing is that parts of what I feel about this is a wee be bit harder to come up with. You can think I know nothing, that is your right. I have questions and if you think you have answered them all, well it is your right to think that.

My postings are genuine and I have real feelings that there is WAY more to the Smart story than we know and I have stated why I feel that way.

You might buy into anything you read on the internet and take it as fact, I choose to question a bit deeper. The weight gain and physical changes I noticed stick with me just as something stuck with a certain FReeper about a certain set of Documents. At first it was not so explainable, it took some questioning and digging. Doing so produced fracturing results to the source you cited. Now didn't it? You fault me for doing that very same thing, so be it.

You can hammer me for my feelings al you want to, go for it, but just like a FReeper thought there was something more there, I feel the same way about this.

Faqcts are useful when making claims of fact. That is not what I did now is it. Maybe now you can see the difference. The fact is that Elizabeth has never answered this question ( though I concede a spokesman has made statement), weight gain and changes go unexplained and now the whole thing is swept away without so much as a prosecution. It is these facts that draw my questions, becasue something just doesn't fit.

You say that I should think, but when i show you things that make me question, you simply dismissthem and claim i am not thinking. I am questioning a few things that go without answer that lead to my perception. You say that is wrong to do, I accept that you think it is wrong to do, but me, I think it is right to do and I have every right to do it.

And it damn sure doesn't make me a troll.
