Look, there was a time not so long ago where blacks were treated horribly - segregated, 2nd class citizens, democrat jim crow laws in the south, unable to vote as a practical manner, relegated to low-end jobs, etc.

That had to change and MLK helped change it, and everybody who worked in the civil rights movement helped change it.

Civil rights in this context isn't about all americans - it's for the people who were denied their civil rights. Fair is fair - I can see deciding to honor the contributions of those who worked towards that end with a holiday: Civil Rights Day.

I got 3 days ban for simply disagreeing with someone.Reason = no reason. Hannity board banned me reason = no reason. That's what bothers the hell outta me.

I haven't seen one episode of 24 don't care about it,

I have never watched 24 before last night but all the hullabaloo here on FR and some talk-shows (no not Hush's) finally got to me. I had to choose between the Bush interview/Duke rape case and 24 and am really glad I chose 24.

I was enthralled for 2 hours and simultaneously traumatized because they present the evil cold-hearted Islamic-fascists in a way that they no doubt really are. The torture scenes made me squirm and I can hardly believe that I'm here watching what may very well be the immediate future of life in America minus a real-life Jack Bauer.

Can't say that I'm now hooked but if future episodes are as good or better than last nights it will be the ONLY television show that I'll definitely make sure to catch. Wonder if Savage is a 24 fan?
