After starting with >13,000 possibilities, the 2nd annual Best Of Today's Toons is over & all the votes have been tallied. Neither hanging nor pregnant chads were encountered & Diebold equipment was not used. First, a few stats. 29 of the finalists received 1st-place votes. There were 71 valid entries received & thanks to all of you who took the time to vote!! Votes were cast, in order of preference, for between 1 & 10 of the 44 finalists. Cartoonists Glenn McCoy(5), Michael Ramirez(4), Gary Varvel(2), Mike Shelton(2) & Paul Nowak(2) all had the multiple items in the finals. The method of scoring was as follows: A 1st-place vote received 10 pts., a 2nd-place vote earned 9 pts., ..., down to a 10th-place vote which got 1 pt.
If you'd like to inquire about possibly helping (as one FReeper has already done) with the Best Of 2007, FReepmail me by the end of this month at the latest (shortly after which the Best Of January 2007 will be determined) & I'll tell you what would be involved. And now, the results:

Thanks for all the work you put into the daily threads and for these Best of... awards. Many of these are priceless-- I really like #2. It is perfect, as is #1.

Guess that's why #s 1 & 2 finished...1 & 2 ;-)
Of course, I do, but I didn't vote for it. Technically, anything that I posted in Today's Toons that made it into the prelim & final rounds was eligible for a vote. However, I preferred cartoons & photoshops over an untouched photo.
The winner also doubles as my wallpaper here at work...
I completely understand. However that one was just so good I can understand it being a favorite. What makes it even better is that it was done spur of the moment by the folks that J F'n K insulted within a day or two of the Moron From Mass (#2) opening his fat cake hole.
You just can't beat that for a real good belly laugh.
Thanks for the toons pookie. I really enjoy them.

P.S. I believe I'm up to 3 now. 2 more and I'm a PBA. (Ping Beating Ace!)
