Has anyone here ever used the Russian music services, allofmp3.com for example?

It's pretty much the only place I buy music from any more. I'm sick to death of paying $15-$20 for a CD with three good songs on it and seven crappy ones, and then having to buy the CD again if it gets scratched or lost.

Of course, the concern I have is that the RIAA is going after Allofmp3.com with a vengeance. I'm always afraid that they're going to sue Allofmp3.com's customers. My thinking on that, though, is that I am a third party, and not subject to the payment transactions or agreements between the website and the artists.

I don't have to monitor Barnes and Noble's payments to the authors of the books I buy there, and I won't be forced to monitor whether transactions between Allofmp3.com and the artists are being handled properly.

The artists are NOT being handled properly. Allofmp3.com has a RADIO STATION license that they are attempting to use as a digital music retailer license. Visa will no longer process credit card transactions to them... because they DO NOT compensate the owners of the copyrights.

You are buying stolen property.

Buying from Allofmp3 is like buying a new TV for 20 bucks from some guy in the street.

Any reasonable person should know that they are not legitimate.

I use that site sometimes.

It is great.

I will say one thing though; if the RIAA goes after them, I am done with legal downloading.

It is back to Kazaa Lite, Ares, and Limewire. The selection is great still with virtually all new songs getting on there soon after they come out, even years after the RIAA went after the p2p networks.

I only do legal downloading now since I feel it is the right thing to do.

If the RIAA tries to go after that, screw it.

I won't buy a single song ever again, but instead will steal them all.

I use K-Pro Lite. Its not exactly user friendly, but I finally figured it out. I paid $24 for one year. I have made up my money easily. I think I now how over 600 songs (took me about two weeks to get them all). Pretty much a good mix of every type of music except Rap. It works well with my MP3 player the Creative ZEN M 30 Gigs.

I just go to walmart.com $.88 per song/any song/anytime. Works for me.
