post of the day so far.
I converted one woman who was leaning favorably toward a Hillary presidency by telling her about Hillary's statement that "We are going to take what you have and give it to others who need it more."
I am getting more and more pessimistic that we have any GOP leaders that WILL get out and point this out.
They are too busy cutting and running from Pres. Bush to point out the dangerous path that the DEMS are putting us on, both domestically, and internationally.
Speaking of Gen. Petraeus, did you know that Lt. Gen. David H. Petraeus & Bill Frist share Some Rare Connection?
Twice, accidents almost ended his career, or even his life. In 1991, as a battalion commander at Fort Campbell, Ky., he was shot in the chest with an M-16 rifle when a soldier tripped during a training exercise. Rushed into surgery at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, he underwent five hours of surgery by Bill Frist, who a decade later became Senate majority leader.
We are going to be involved militarily in Afghanistan [the "good war"] and in Iraq long after Bush leaves office. Again, it may not be up to us to initiate military action, but we could be forced to respond, e.g., a Chinese attempt to take Taiwan by force or an escalation by Iran in the support it provides to the terrorists in Iraq.
Fascinating connection! Thanks for telling me that, anita. I love footnotes. LOL
Hagel is saying that we need a POLITICAL solution...which is pretty much what we had in Vietnam...
Any political solution that comes as a replacement, or a precusor to a military solution...will fail. All one is doing is making a deal, not winning.
Great job Carolinamom, sometimes that's what it takes, one mind at a time.
I remember like it was yesterday, when you, MID were telling all of us, especially me...that it is WAY to early to worry about 2008's POTUS candidate.
I believed you then, and felt that if we dwelled on that, it could derail what was happening at the time..perhaps that is what happened last November.
But, NOW it seems so LATE...because none of the candidates seem like they have "IT".....we need a candidate that has "IT".
WOW!!!! What a wonderful thought..He could followup with what is your wife's relationship with the infamous Wilson's?
#28 Excellents points....
ANd I'm hoping (against hope perhaps) that next week, when the LIbby Trial start, and Fat Tim has to get on the stand, that Team Libby has loads and loads of clips from MTP where they will show that Fat Tim is a biased reporter, and speaks not the truth and fact, falsely quotes people, and is working as hard as he can to undermine the President. And that why should the jury believe Fat Tim who is a proven liar, over Mr. Libby, a long time public servant who has done everything to work in support of America rather than against it. That is my hope, that Team Libby decimates Fat Tim on the stand and questions why in the world Fitzy would take the word of a proven liar over the word of Mr. Libby.
I didn't find that with Google. Do you have a link for it? Thanks, in advance.
Terrorists don't understand talking, the mainstay of libs; they do understand killing. Preparation/anticipation for defeat guarantees defeat. This war, as President Bush well knows, is one to preserve our civilization. We MUST be victorious.
