Just heard at the top of the hour. Nifong is recusing himself from the Duke Case as prosecutor.
Both feet and both hands in pockets.
And that's what seems odd to me. I hope it's true. But I don't know...
Thanks Crawdad. I misread your question for my reply Howlin.
Dang, I was hoping to get more mileage out of C. Destine Couch pics. ;oD
He wouldn't do the decent thing and just drop the charges, would he? Or did he get in under the wire before Judge Smith removed him?
Over the week end we were told that the NC Bar and Nifong were engaged in plea negotiations. This could be a result of that?
Come to think of it....I think I was raped by a member the Duke Lacrosse team. In fact I almost positive of it...Which team member has a whopping trust fund?...that's the one that did it....in the....hmmm.....library with a lacrosse stick. I was traumatized and I'm unable to remember the rest of it....
LOL, hoping that Mr. MILF would get the case?
Nifong might be throwing in the (white) towel after finally meeting Crystal yesterday for the FIRST time and learned what we've known all along: She LIES.
Would you expect Nifong to ever do the decent thing?
At the beginning of the broadcast Jim Angle of FOX just said there was word that Nifong wants out. I suspect he is relying on the ABC report though.
I'm sorry you feel that way. I cannot share that sort of hatred and anger. It would poison my soul.

WRAL is all over it, although I didn't see anything before the 6:00 news
What is the "fight or flight response?"
This fundamental physiologic response forms the foundation of modern day stress medicine. The "fight or flight response" is our body's primitive, automatic, inborn response that prepares the body to "fight" or "flee" from perceived attack, harm or threat to our survival.

All I heard is that Nifong has asked the North Carolina Attorney General's office to handle it. I suspect this is some sort of plea bargain or "deal" in an attempt to get the Bar Association to be lenient. Anyone else agree with that?
Sorry, but I don't have access to local NC news in San Diego!
Nifong Asks for Special Prosecutor in Duke Lacrosse Case
Posted: 7 minutes ago
Durham County District Attorney Mike Nifong has asked the North Carolina Attorney General's for a special prosecutor in the Duke lacrosse case, the office confirmed late Friday evening.
Nifong, leaving his office at the Durham Courthouse, at no comment Friday evening.
Nifong has come under fire for his handling of the case with a number of public officials calling for an investigation into his behavior and the North Carolina State Bar filing an ethics complaint against him late last month.
The ethics complaint claims Nifong's statements to the media early in the investigation constituted "fraud, deceit or dishonesty."
A three-member panel will decide guilt or innocence and then, depending on the outcome, may impose a penalty, which could range from a reprimand to disbarment.
The North Carolina Conference of District Attorneys has also publicly stated that Nifong should remove himself from the case.
Nifong said in an earlier interview that he would reserve "those kinds of issues" for the courtroom.
"If we get to the point where it appears that my presence in an investigation or anything like that is a hindrance, then we can deal with it at that time," he said.
Friday's announcement comes one day after defense attorneys in the case filed a supplement to a previous motion asking a judge to toss out the photo lineup in which the accuser identified the three suspects -- David Evans, 23, Collin Finnerty, 20, and Reade Seligmann, 20.
The motion cites critical changes in the accuser's story that some legal experts have said hurt the prosecution's case and the accuser's credibility.
Seligmann, Finnerty and Evans are charged with first-degree sexual assault and first-degree kidnapping in connection with the March incident in which the accuser told police she was held against her will in a bathroom of a house she had gone to perform.
All three men were facing first-degree rape charges, but Nifong dropped the charge last month after the accuser told said she was no longer certain a rape -- as defined by the state of North Carolina -- occurred.
